Abba Yusuf, Kano\u2019s governor, has denied the knowledge of a contract allegedly awarded for drug supply to the 44 LGAs in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a joint statement by Halilu Dantiye, the Kano commissioner for information, and Sanusi Bature, the spokesperson to the governor, Yusuf ordered an investigation into the allegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Governor, therefore, directed the Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), to immediately investigate the allegation and report the outcome for further necessary action,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yusuf also urged the people of Kano to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is coming on the heels of an allegation by Bello Galadanchi, a skit maker popularly known as Dan Bello, who claimed in a viral video that the Kano government was involved in a drug supply contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the video, Bello alleged that the Kano government was involved in a fraudulent contract across the 44 LGAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve uncovered some past theft of public funds, but what about on-going wrongdoings?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He alleged that the 44 LGAs in the state are \u201cforced to pay N10 million before taxes for medicines\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
