{"id":111335,"date":"2024-08-28T13:21:17","date_gmt":"2024-08-28T12:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bodexng.com\/?p=111335"},"modified":"2024-08-28T13:21:20","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T12:21:20","slug":"many-passengers-injured-as-brt-buses-collide-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bodexng.com\/2024\/08\/many-passengers-injured-as-brt-buses-collide-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Many passengers injured as BRT buses collide in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div>\n<p>Many passengers were left injured on Tuesday following a late night collision involving two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nosa Okunbor, spokesperson of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), said the accident occurred after the Iyana Ipaja-bound bus tried to avoid crushing a commercial motorcycle on the BRT corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said no lives were lost in the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival of the agency\u2019s response team at the incident scene, the LRT discovered a road traffic accident involving two BRT buses, registration numbers unknown, at the aforementioned location,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFurther investigations at the scene revealed that the BRT bus headed inward Iyana Ipaja in attempts to avoid crushing a commercial motorcyclist with passengers plying the BRT corridor illegally, collided with an oncoming BRT bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo lives were lost as a result of the incident.
