Michael B Jordan and his Black Panther co-stars joined Chadwick Boseman\u2019s family and friends for his Malibu memorial.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 43 years old popular American actor best known for playing Black Panther in the hit Marvel superhero franchise died on Friday, August 28, after a four-year secret battle with colon cancer.<\/p>\n

Mourners including Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong\u2019o, Winston Duke, and other Black Panther stars joined the star\u2019s grieving wife Taylor Simone Ledward at his private memorial which took place a week after his death.<\/p>\n

Boseman was also remembered on Thursday, September, 3, as a \u2018hometown hero who brought a sense of pride\u2019 to his native Anderson, South Carolina.<\/p>\n

The city paid tribute to Boseman in a public memorial with a viewing of Black Panther held at an outdoor amphitheater with kids \u2013 dressed up in Black Panther costumes.<\/p>\n

Boseman died on Friday after a four year battle with colon cancer<\/p>\n

A statement posted on the actor\u2019s Instagram account said the actor had been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in 2016, which had progressed to Stage IV. According to the statement, he died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,\u201d the statement said. \u201cFrom \u2018Marshall\u2019 to \u2018Da 5 Bloods,\u2019 August Wilson\u2019s \u2018Ma Rainey\u2019s Black Bottom\u2019 and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.<\/p>\n
