Dammy Krane's mum

Dammy Krane’s mum, Elizabeth Adeola Oshodi, has insisted that her son is innocent of the allegation of theft against him.

Recall that the singer was on Friday last week arrested for allegedly using a stolen credit card to book a private jet in Miami, United States, US. He was arraigned on a nine-count charge of grand theft and credit card forgery.

Reacting to his arrest,Dammy Krane’s mum claimed that his flight ticket and hotel bookings were fraudulently purchased by a show promoter before he got arrested while trying to board the flight from Maimi to Washington.

He is currently being held in jail at the Miami Dade County Corrections as he awaits to meet his bond requirement

In a statement she issued on her Facebook page, Oshodi said the singer will clear his name in court and advised all artistes to purchase their ticket by themselves to avoid a similar incident.

The statement reads, “As an artiste, promoters book your hotel stays and often buy your destination tickets. It’s never once crossed our hearts as a performing entertainment family, to have to verify that the sources of bookings are legitimate.

“And please, keep in mind that we’ve been in the industry for almost 15 years. Then came the unfortunate past Friday, when Dammy Krane got arrested trying to board a flight from Maimi to Washington: Maryland. His ticket and hotel bookings were fraudulently purchased by the next show promoter (s). And because of Dammy Krane’s fame, all accusatory hell, broke loose.

“We thank God for His goodness and the great spirit of truth. He will have his day in court to clear his name. He will give his personal press release shortly l, however, have decided to speak up against insinuations of fraudulency and grand theft. Dammy is a truly gentle and honest citizen of our planet and remains a good ambassador for not just the music industry, but Nigeria as a whole.“I also will like to seize this rare opportunity to warn all promoters, entertainers, the music industry, the performing arts world & all travel-prone individuals to , from now on;

“Buy your tickets yourself.
“Ensure by prior verification that your ticket and hotel reservations match the purchaser’s info.

“How? By declining emergency arrangements that do not give up to 24 to 48 hours to allow you call the airlines and hotels for verifications. Remember to always give the option for promoters or show organizers to buy all bookings and must accompany with the booking profiles: the names used for bookings, and phone numbers must match your designated or named offers, or they will need to send the cash in their verifiable names to your business account.

“It hurts so bad that fellow Nigerians will do such a damaging act to another, knowing that the repercussions could be so devastating. We are aware of the implications at hand and pray for your faith in our purity, even as we beg for your patience to let the law take its’ course, before jumping to unfair conclusions.

“We remain humbly grateful for all the innumerable support and overwhelming show of love to his family.”

‘I’m a daughter of two immigrants,’ Cardi B rants as Elon Musk calls her ‘puppet’

Rapper Cardi B has responded to remarks made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who recently called her a “puppet” for the Kamala Harris campaign.

Musk shared a clip of Cardi B’s speech on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words. The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”

Cardi B fired back, saying, “I’m not a puppet, Elon. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty, and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you… But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle… PS fix my algorithm.”

The exchange comes ahead of the U.S. presidential elections, scheduled for November 5, where Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is set to face Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Though Harris stands poised to potentially become the first Indian American president, a survey by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace suggests she may garner fewer votes from the community than President Joe Biden did in 2020.

In her rally speech, Cardi B spoke passionately about women’s rights, stating: “Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog, I’ve been underestimated, my success belittled and discredited. Let me tell you something: Women have to work ten times harder, perform ten times better, and still people question us, how we got to the top. I can’t stand a bully, but just like Kamala, I always stand up to one.”

‘We’re not on same level’ | ‘Copy copy’ — Kcee, Flavour trade cryptic jabs on X

Kcee appeared to have fired back at fellow singer Flavour for allegedly insinuating that he copied his music style.

“Copy copy akaria,’ Flavour had written via X without mentioning names.

Flavour’s subtle dig on Sunday sparked controversy, with many assuming Kcee was the target.

This was due to Kcee’s recent single mirroring Flavour’s signature sound.

Kcee responded with a series of intense posts, describing the tweet as “disrespectful” to his hard work and sweat.

He argued that no one has exclusive rights to the style, which celebrates Igbo culture and heritage.

He emphasized that his music authentically represents his heritage and refused to apologize for using the style.

“Stop trying to gatekeep Igbo culture. You’re not a Custodian. I’ve been in this game before you. It belongs to all. You don’t own this genre of music. My music celebrates our heritage, and I won’t apologize. In an ocean of things that matter. You’re like a needle. Get that right,” he wrote.

“People recognize authenticity. I’ll continue celebrating our culture unapologetically. Spend your energy on success, not diminishing mine.

“I’ve never been the type to go head to head, but I’m calling out this bullshit because I won’t be disrespected. No way. I’ve come too far for anyone to downplay my sweats and hard work.”

Although Flavour has yet to respond, the development has sparked reactions on X.

Nigerian Youtuber Korty EO has faced backlash on social media for calling Davido and his team out for refusing to permit her to release an interview.

On October 26, 2024, Korty took to X to post a snippet of the much anticipated interview with Davido, informing her followers that she was going to release it soon.

She wrote, “Randomly decided to rework my video with @davido i’ll drop it tomorrow by 1pm.”

However, the next day, she expressed her frustration regarding the fact that the singer’s team refused to allow her to release the video, even after she re-edited it.

“They agreed that i should re-edit this video and now have said i must not post the video for reasons i still don’t understand. i am not scared of anyone, but i am wise enough to stay out of battles i’m not equipped for.”

Her post was not well received by many X singers, including Davido’s fans who promptly dug out an old post of hers where she voiced her prayer to interview the singer one day.

One X user said to her, “You putting it out like they begged you…you literally asked them to be on your show.”

Korty clapped back saying, “ode they reached out to me. but you can’t relate cos all you’ve ever done in your miserable life is beg & tweet like the ignorant fool you are.”

In another post, Korty stressed that artistes should refrain from coming on her show if they would eventually tell her not to release the interview.

She wrote,”iIve filmed so many artists who eventually tell me not to post the video. if you don’t want people to see you for who you are, please do not come on my show. stop wasting my time.”

“It’s beautiful that the greats recognize me, but my approach can be too intense for some of them, and thats ok, we will charge it to the game, thank the lord & keep working” she added.

Following the backlash she received, she posted, “I no rant again, love u all for supporting me even on the days i’m going crazy.”
