Meet Nigerian Man Who Got Jailed For Four And Half Years In London For Reckless Driving

Published

A 24-year-old Nigerian, Princely Imara, has been jailed for 4 and half years, after filming a ‘selfie’ at 120mph while chasing a police car. He was also banned from driving for 4 years.

Princely started following the vehicle at high speed after he spotted it heading toward an emergency incident, with its sirens blaring, on the A20 in Ashford, Kent.

He filmed the entire incident on camera, but the footage was only discovered after he was involved in another chase – this time, along the M2 at 130mph – a month later, which resulted in a crash.

In the later incident, two officers noticed Imara drive past them at high speed. He was driving ‘erratically’, even swerving onto the hard shoulder, Canterbury Crown Court heard.
Imara then re-joined the carriageway on the M2 near Sittingbourne, Kent, behind the officers’ vehicle and overtook them. He was pulled over and spoken to by the cops, the court heard.
Simon Taylor, prosecuting, told the court: ‘The officers got out and spoke to Imara who was aggressive and obstructive.
‘His demeanour raised concerns after he stated he had recently been detained under the Mental Health Act – and he said this while still filming the officers on his mobile phone.’
While the officers carried out checks, Imara sped off, reaching a top speed of 130mph. He was finally caught after he crashed into a roadside barrier, causing £2,600 worth of damage.
The footage of the earlier incident, where the convicted drug dealer and burglar had launched into a rant about the police, was discovered after his mobile phone was seized and examined. Mara has been jailed for four and a half years on a variety of charges.
He had admitted seven drug offenses, burglary, handling stolen goods, three charges of driving dangerously, five charges of resisting a police officer and driving without a license and insurance.
Sentencing Imara, Judge Adele Williams told him: ‘This was appalling driving in which you showed no regard for the safety of others – including police officers who were doing no more than their duty.’ The defendant, of Shepway, Kent, was also banned from driving for four years.

He will have to take a re-test before he is allowed to get back behind the wheel of a car.

Ahmedu Obiabo, the Nigerian dancehall singer better known as Blackface, has accused Shallipopi of “copying his song”.

In a post via his Instagram page, the 50-year-old shared a video where he played a snippet of his song ‘Enemy Plan Enemy Fail’ and ‘ASAP’, a track of ‘Shakespopi‘, Shallipopi’s new album.

Listen to both songs below:

He further questioned if other Nigerian artistes could not make their music without “copying my song or melody”.

“Una mean say if them no copy my sound or melody, them no go get song to sing? Okay I don make remix for una so make una better abandon this una project,” he wrote.

This is not the first time Blackface has accused another artiste of stealing his song.

In October, he accused Olamide of copyright infringements, adding that the YBNL boss stole several songs in his career. He also claimed that Asake sampled his song ‘Ikebe Super’ in ‘Joha’.

Nollywood actress, Juliana Olayode has recounted how her senior colleague and boss, Funke Akindele emptied her bank account to save her mother’s life.

In the wake of claims that Funke Akindele doesn’t treat her staff right, Juliana debunked it as she made it known that Funke is the reason her mother is still alive after battling Fibroid.

In a lengthy post on his Instagram page, Juliana showered encomium on Funke as she recalled how the movie star emptied her account to make sure her mother was taken to a private hospital and treated immediately. She noted how the movie star does a lot of good for people, yet doesn’t post it for publicity.

Juliana added that Funke has worked hard to be where she is today and God backed her up. Raining prayers for her and her children, she wrote,

“Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaa @funkejenifaakindele
Olufunke Omo Akindele, the one who the Lord delights in.
The apple of God’s eyes, the one who has found favor in the sight of God, the one whom God has clothed with so much grace and glory, the one whom God has enthroned!!!! The one whose path is like a shining light, the one whose light can not be dimmed!

Olufunke Omo Akindele, the one who has gone through fire and came out without smelling like smoke, is a strong woman, a resilient woman, an Amazon, a phenomenal woman, a pacesetter, a record breaker, and a good woman.

My mum would have died of fibroid years ago, had you not emptied your account to make sure that she was taken to a private hospital and treated immediately.

You do a lot of good but you don’t post about it, you don’t do it for publicity, a lot of people are on your payroll, and you have done so much that an Instagram caption would not be enough to talk about it.

You have worked so hard to be where you are and God backed you up. You will never fall and you will never fail, the mighty hand of God will continue to carry you for the rest of your life.
You, your children, and everything that concerns you is covered by God!!!!

I LOVE YOU MAMA”.
