6 year old Antwain mostly known from his viral “where we bout to eat at” video has passed away at. #RIP Antwain Lee Fowler was diagnosed with Auto- immune Enterapothy in July of 2015.Antwain has undergone over 25 surgeries. Like normal infants Antwain was unable to drink milk, or eat solid foods during his earlier childhood.

Antwain Lee Fowler was diagnosed with autoimmune bowel disease in July 2015. AIE is a rare immunodeficiency disease that attacks your intestines. Due to poor health, Antwin has been hospitalized countless times. Antwain has undergone more than 25 operations. Like normal babies, Antwin cannot drink milk or eat solid foods in early childhood.

The first four years of Antwain’s life were a protracted battle, and it was also a very important experience for his family. Through unlimited prayers, faith, and doctors who work around the clock, Antwin is gradually recovering; he is deeply grateful for his achievements so far.

Today, Antevan is ecstatic and smiles to the world continuously. Although his battle is not over yet, he continues to despise his situation. From the moment Antwin was discharged from the hospital, he wanted to know one thing, “Where are we going to eat?” This is a question the world finds himself asking frequently. During his recovery journey, we encountered bumps in riding, which to some extent started a whole new battle. After moving away the next day, his Anteven port fell ill. The doctor said that during the operation, he inhaled and caused pneumonia. His upper right lung and lower left lung collapsed. The fighting did not stop there. He received pneumonia treatment and is now on his way to recovery.

Our main goal now is to restore his strength; his muscles are very weak, which affects his breathing. So they decided to perform a tracheotomy in his throat until the results of his skin muscle biopsy came out (pray that he was weak because he was hospitalized for too long) as a parent Juggling with other children is a struggle and at home and in the hospital Back and forth between, but I have completed it. We just want him to live a normal life, which seems difficult considering he has testimony. Many Antwains supporters have been asking me about GoFundMe to share their love for our family. This is the only GOFUNDME, we don’t have any other sources or organizations, please don’t send anything because it is not from us…I really appreciate each of you, you have shown so much love overwhelming Thank you sexually from the bottom of my heart.

Suspected hoodlums have set sections of Eleme and Ikwerre local government secretariats in Rivers state on fire.

The torching comes hours after Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police, ordered the immediate withdrawal of police personnel from the secretariats of the 23 LGAs of the state.

Grace Iringe-Koko, police spokesperson in Rivers, who announced the development, said the IGP’s directive “is in line with the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure neutrality and the smooth functioning of democratic institutions”.

Reports say some of the newly elected chairpersons and councillors arrived the facilities to the sight of thick black smoke billowing from what should be their new offices.

There are also reports of anarchy in a slew of other LGA secretariats in Rivers, as new council bosses set out their stalls for governance.

BACKGROUND

On Sunday, Siminalayi Fubara, Rivers governor, swore in 23 newly elected local government chairpersons.

The Action Peoples Party (APP) won 22 LGAs in Saturday’s election, while the Action Alliance (AA) was victorious in one LGA.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, Fubara said there were plans to perpetrate violence against the elected officials.

“I’m aware that they are mobilising 20 people per unit to go and confront you tomorrow when you resume in your local government headquarters,” Fubara said.

“Please if they are coming with violence, avoid them.

“The peace of this state is too important to us. Everybody knows what they are planning but please I want to beg everyone to follow my approach.

“At the right time, you will always win if you are patient and calculative. We have made our promises to our people. We are going to lead them to the promised land.”

NAFDAC workers begin indefinite strike over welfare issues

The Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations And Government-Owned Companies (SSASCGOC), an affiliate of the Trade Union Congress of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has begun an indefinite strike over issues revolving around staff welfare.

Some of the issues include review of 2024 promotion examination results, appointment of directors for public affairs/special duties, training institute, and reform of promotion examination content.

Others are creation of psychology officer cadre in accordance with HOS circular, payment of all pending burial expenses, life insurance and repatriation allowance, and salary arrears for 2022 employees.

In a statement, Ejor Michael, TUC secretary, said the workers had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the agency’s management in a communique dated September 20, 2024.

The statement said another congress of NAFDAC staff was convened on October 4, following the expiration of the ultimatum.

“After careful deliberation, Congress unanimously resolved to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike across all NAFDAC formations, commencing Monday, 7th October 2024,” the statement reads.

“In view of the foregoing, you are hereby directed to down tools by withdrawing all your services in compliance with the strike action.

“This decision is a result of NAFDAC Management’s failure to address the critical issues outlined in the Communique within the given time frame.

“The Congress considers this ongoing inaction insufferable and accentuates that the industrial action will continue unabated until all demands specified in the Communique are fully met.

“In light of this, all staff are advised to remove their personal belongings from their offices, as no one, no matter the rank or cadre, will be allowed entry into any NAFDAC Office (premises) during the strike period.

“SSASCGOC State and Zonal Coordinators are hereby directed to ensure strict compliance with this directive.

“Dear Comrades, your cooperation is greatly treasured to ensure the effectiveness of this indefinite nationwide strike action.

“We will not relent until all issues are satisfactorily addressed.”

‘I didn’t break the law,’ says culture minister Musawa on NYSC certificate saga

The Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, on Sunday, spoke about the controversy surrounding her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate, asserting her legal standing on the issue.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Musawa stated, “I didn’t break the law,” in response to questions regarding the matter.

Recall the minister faced criticism for failing to provide evidence of her participation in the mandatory NYSC scheme during her Senate confirmation screening.

However, in April 2024, a Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed the case against her, with Justice James Omotosho ruling that the plaintiffs lacked the legal standing to bring the matter before the court. This ruling has led Musawa to declare that the issue has been settled legally.

Speaking on the matter, Musawa said her intention is to focus on her responsibilities in office rather than engaging with the controversy.

“The matter had been adjudicated and one day, I will come out with my account. I have probably done more NYSC than you (presenter). I have done at least two NYSCs in my life.

“I think what I owe Nigerians is to say that I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t break the law. The NYSC I did and finished. That is the much I can tell you. Everything I did was by the law.

“That was why I also said that one day I would come out with my account of what happened to set the record straight. As of now, I think it is important for me to focus on giving Nigerians the deliverables,” she said.
