Yvonne Jegede blasts Nedu Wazobia for talking about her

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has put media personality, Nedu Wazobia, on blast over his recent comments about her, following her public apology for her statements on The Honest Bunch Podcast.

In an Instagram post on June 13, 2024, Jegede uploaded Nedu’s picture and called him out, tagging him as narcissistic and toxic.

She wrote, “I woke up to see Nedu’s post reacting to my appearance on the podcast, particularly my apology to May Edochie and women in general. I understand Nedu’s difficulty in comprehending my apology. Narcissistic and toxic men like him cannot grasp the importance of apologising when others feel hurt by your actions, regardless of whether you believe you are right or wrong.”

In her lengthy post, Jegede didn’t mince words, accusing Nedu of revelling in promoting negative narratives against women. She went further and accused him of disliking women and their success.

“Small-minded people like you rejoice when women attack each other or are trampled upon. Check the history of your podcast; it is filled with content targeting women’s self-esteem. Perhaps the rumour about you is true—you don’t like women! Nedu, there’s nothing wrong with women winning and shining; it doesn’t diminish you or any other man.”

The actress didn’t stop there. She called out Nedu for what she perceived as his failure to support her work, claiming that he neglected to promote her movie A Father’s Love during her appearance on the podcast.

“You are so evil that you didn’t even promote A Father’s Love, the movie I came to discuss on your show. Instead, you were all over my WhatsApp, telling me how much you like me, and now you join the mob and chase clout with your petty posts. I was raised to apologise if I was wrong and to those who felt hurt by my actions,” Jegede continued.

She also said, “If I didn’t own what I said with conviction, I wouldn’t come out to apologise when it was pointed out that some women and May felt offended. My apology was directed at those who clearly expressed their hurt. Take all the money you want from Facebook and YouTube, but posterity always judges those who stand against women and profit at the expense of others. A small-minded man like you will never understand the need for an apology, even when he is wrong.”

This dispute emerged after Jegede appeared on the podcast and afterwards issued a public apology to fellow actress May Edochie and women in general for her previous statements.

The actress had stated that she saw no issue in actor Yul Edochie taking Judy Austin as a second wife to May. She stressed that the backlash the actor had received from the public was ironic because she felt many of his critics came from polygamous homes themselves.

However, in her apology, she stated that she had not meant to trivialise May’s troubles, but was only trying to highlight the prominence of polygamy in Nigerian cultures. She also promptly apologised for her words during the show.

In response, Nedu then voiced his opinion on social media, saying, “If you talk, use your chest to stand by your words. Still Number 1.”

Portable, the controversial Nigerian singer, has resumed his criticism of Davido, the Afrobeats star.

The pair linked up at a restaurant in Atlanta earlier this month. The 30-year-old also appreciated Davido for gifting him a brand-new pair of luxurious Dior sneakers.

But after their hangout, the singer claimed the Afrobeats star promised to make a song with him but allegedly did not deliver on the promise.

In a recent social media rant, the singer accused Davido, 31, of chasing clout with their hangout in the United States.

Portable argued that Davido “took advantage of me to gain more popularity”, adding that he did not provide any financial support or a verse for a collaboration.

“Davido ripped me, you invited me out for a dinner in America, but you did not give me a verse or money, you just used me to trend. You should have given me at least $10,000,” the street-hop singer is heard ranting in a video.

Portable had also begged Davido for a collaboration in 2023.

While appearing on the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G explains why he failed to clear his collaboration ‘Mary Jane’ with Wizkid and why he has been asked to take down the song.

According to the seminal Nigerian street pop star, during his days, collaborations were the result of love and respect among colleagues and there were no formalities and need for clearance before releasing the collaboration.

“When we did the song, it was all about love and there was nothing like clearance,” Terry G tells host Adesope in pidgin.

The hitmaker further acknowledged that the music business has evolved and there’s a need to be professional and get the necessary clearances.

Terry G stated that his management got an email from Wizkid’s lawyers who demanded that he take down the song and he has instructed his team to take it down.

Terry G’s decision to release his ‘Mary Jane’ in 2024 came as a surprise to fans, especially since the song was recorded many years ago. It also led to speculation as to whether the song was cleared by Wizkid.

Despite the takedown notice, Terry G maintains that he still holds Wizkid in very high regard and has fond memories of the Grammy winner whom he describes as the Jay Z of his generation.

During the interview with Adesope, Terry G gave insights into the inspiration behind his eccentric style of music that rocketed him to mainstream success.

VeryDarkMan recalls time in detention, calls out Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo and Samklef

Martins ‘VeryDarkMan’ Otse, the controversial social media critic, has called out actresses Tonto Dikeh and Iyabo Ojo — a few days after being released from police detention.

On May 22, Otse was arraigned at the federal high court in Abuja on five counts bordering on cyberstalking.

One of the charges alleged that the defendant posted videos on his Instagram handle containing information that was “grossly offensive, pornographic or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character”.

In another charge, the defendant was said to have alleged that Iyabo Ojo was having an indecent sexual relationship with her daughter, even though he knew that the information was false.

Police further claimed that the defendant alleged that Tonto Dikeh “is behind the gossip blog Gistlover”.

However, the social media celebrity pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was released on bail on June 10.

In a lengthy video via his Instagram page on Friday, Otse recounted his ordeal while in custody.

The activist said he would keep working with the police but called on the law enforcement agency to stop paying attention to online gossip.

Otse also attacked Iyabo Ojo, arguing that she called his parents “abusive names” and expected him not to retaliate.

The social media celebrity insisted that Tonto Dikeh “is behind Gistlover”, alleging that the anonymous blog stopped calling out people since his claim.

“I have five counts against me. Samklef, Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo and of course the police. If you remember the first time I was detained, I talked something about the DIGs and I was taken to the inspector general of police,” he said partly in the lengthy video.

“When I got there, this man spoke to me like a son, he did not act like someone who had the power to do and undo. He told me to fight for something good and if you have a problem, bring my petition and he will sign it.

“And I told him that if I bring a petition to the police, they always take time and sometimes they do not respond. He said from today, bring your petition and if they do not do it, come to me.”
