Tacha shares her crypto trading success story

Published

Big Brother Naija star Tacha has opened up about her cryptocurrency journey and reflected on her successes and lessons learned along the way.

On July 3, 2024, the reality TV star took to her X account and recounted how she dabbled into crypto trading in 2019 because the idea of sending money without restrictions appealed to her.

She wrote, “Well yeah, every web3 lover has a success story, and I promised y’all mine. When I first got into the crypto space in 2019, Ethereum was around $100. I bought a couple and held them for a while, then sold them when the prices climbed. Not gonna lie, the whole crypto concept made a lot of sense to me. Imagine sending money to anyone around the world without restrictions.”

Tacha noted that during the NFT boom, she ran giveaways to help her fans get into crypto, with many of them making money from the opportunities.

“Fast forward to 2021, when the NFT boom started, then I started working with a lot of NFT projects, and I got into invisible friends! OK bears, amongst many others. I also did a lot of whitelist giveaways and onboarded a lot of my fans into the space. Many of my followers made money from these giveaways,” she added.

However, not every project was successful. She recalled how some did really well while others failed completely, and how this led her to take a break and recover from the losses.

She explained, “I bought into some big projects, and while some did amazingly well, others went to zero. At some point, I wanted to just take a step back and recover from the hit, and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve been off. Anyway, I wanted to do a couple of things differently this year, and coming back into the space was one of them. Moving forward, I’d love to carry y’all along on this journey. Expect Alpha narratives and all things web3! Anything you wanna learn in web3?? Let me know…Happy New Month TITANS”

Sex demands led to my 14-year absence from acting, says Jumoke George

Jumoke George, the ace actress, has spoken out about her 14-year absence from the film industry.

In a recent episode of Oyinmomo TV, the actress revealed that her dark skin tone and refusal to exchange sex for roles led to her prolonged hiatus.

Jumoke, who returned to acting some years ago, disclosed that movie directors often complained about her dark skin tone, suggesting she bleach her skin.

She also recalled an incident where a director told her she was being blacklisted for refusing to sleep with them.

“My skin tone was not the only setback I encountered in this business. The other reason why I did not get any roles or see the back of a lens for 14 years is because I refused to sleep around. For my skin tone, they complained that I was too dark and I would tell them to add my lightning to the scene to make me look lighter,” she said.

“You cannot push me into something I do not want to do. I will glow with this skin till old age and do not forget, black does not crack. I started having issues with getting roles when the executives wanted a relationship in exchange for it. The pressure was getting immense and it was more than 20 to 30 people.

“Another thing was that if you dated one of them, broke up, and went ahead to date someone else, they would discuss you among themselves. I said to myself that as long as God exists, I would not find myself in such a space. I had to do so to avoid becoming a pass-around among them.

“I did not get any acting roles for about three years, I did not understand what was happening. One day I was at Feminine Cafe at LTV 8, and I met one of our directors, I would not mention his name. I asked him what happened that he did not call me for roles, and he asked me ‘Jummy, you want to feature in movies?’.

“He then told me that their group of directors decided not to call me roles and I was like why? He said it was because I was refusing to sleep with them… he also asked me what was the benefit of my refusing their advances. I just started crying and he walked out. When I got home, I prayed to God to take control. “
