Talk about a grand finale!

Los Angeles had all eyes on Lady Gaga Thursday evening as she took the stage at a local bar in the trendy Silverlake neighborhood for the third and final stop across her Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour.

As the venue’s top secret location surfaced mere hours before show time, hundreds of Gaga’s Little Monsters gathered for a chance at snagging a spot inside. The Joanne songstress, rocking a sequined mermaid-inspired, two-piece ensemble complete with flowers in her hair, performed a number of her smash hits from her new album to the extremely intimate crowd of about 200.

The 30-year-old kicked things off with “A-Yo,” telling concertgoers, “I missed you guys so much. I’m so happy to be here.” Album collaborator Mark Ronson joined Gaga onstage for the track, which preceded her first live renditions of “John Wayne” and “Come to Mama.”

As it turns out, Gaga’s L.A. tour stop almost didn’t happen. Thanks to some admittedly inconvenient car trouble, the singer explained she “barely made it” to perform. Speed bumps aside, the rest of the evening went off without a hitch, echoing the same stripped down, back to basics vibe music fans have applauded Gaga for channeling on Joanne.

But in between crowd surfing, a few celeb sightings (shout out to Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross) and the all-around epic antics you’d expect from a Gaga concert, she took time to open up about a number of personal topics.

Recalling the international success “Million Reasons” has witnessed since its release she admitted, “When I saw that, I felt so heard as a woman. And you know what, if I’m heard, that means that you’re heard. So, I just wanted to tell all those women and men who bought that song that I can f–king hear you. I can hear you, and every time I sing this song, I can hear you in my heart singing with me.”

Things took a political turn when Gaga discussed “Angel Down,” her tribute to Trayvon Martin. Touching on the forthcoming election she told the crowd, “I wrote this song about people loving each other and taking care of each other. The election is coming up and I really hope that is a peaceful day, as much as it can be. I pray that on that day we all understand that not everybody is gonna vote for the same person.”

She continued, “Everybody has different ideas and thoughts and that’s okay. We don’t have to hate each other because of that.”

Speaking to her late aunt, whose namesake and life provided the inspiration for the album, Gaga revealed its impact on her father: “I saw a look in my dad’s eyes that I’ve never seen in my whole life, because when my dad was really young he lost his sister, Joanne.”

“Sometimes I used to wonder if I ever got to meet my real dad, you know, because sometimes things happen in your life that are so bad that you die, or a part of you dies, and after this record came out, I swear that part of my dad came back to life,” Gaga added.

A quick change into a pair of denim cutoffs and simple white tee, Gaga closed the show with a glam rock performance of “Perfect Illusion.”

Never change, Mother Monster.

Balogun Eletu, the music promoter better known as Sam Larry, has denied claims that he gave Davido a 24-hour ultimatum to apologise to Wizkid.

An X user alleged that Sam Larry asked Davido to tender an apology to Wizkid following their online altercation earlier this week.

The user also claimed that the music promoter warned that he would take action against Davido if the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker does not do his bidding.

“Davido. Abi kini o pe. I give you 25 hours to apologise to Machala or I might have to step in,” the post allegedly attributed to Larry reads.

However, in a post via his Instagram story on Wednesday, the Lagos socialite reposted the said post while refuting the claims.

“This is fake story. Sam Larry never post such thing. Stop posting fake rumours about Sam Larry,” Larry wrote.

On Monday, a fight ensued between Davido and Wizkid on X after the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker mocked him and Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records head honcho.

Wizkid referred to Don Jazzy as an “influencer” while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying after a fan asked him to release new music.

The singer’s posts attracted criticism from a segment of social media users, including celebrities.

Davido also retaliated, labeling Wizkid’s career as “dead”.

Wizkid’s online outburst was due to pain of losing mum, says Yul Edochie

Yul Edochie, the Nigerian actor, has offered his opinion on Wizkid‘s recent social media outburst.

Wizkid set social media ablaze on Monday after referring to Don Jazzy, head honcho of Mavin Records, as an “influencer”.

He also engaged in a heated exchange with Davido, his colleague.

In a video shared on Instagram, Edochie attributed Wizkid’s outburst to the “pain of losing his mother”.

He added that society does not provide support for those grieving.

“Many people would not understand what is happening to Wizkid. But I will tell you, it’s the pain of losing his mother,” he said.

“Wizkid is going through the pain of losing his mother. It is a terrible pain. You see that pain of losing a loved one? It is a terrible pain. It is a pain that would make you question God. It is a pain that would make you question life. It is a pain that would make you throw caution to the wind. It is a pain that would make you sometimes want to even take your life.

“It is a pain that would make you sometimes become even disrespectful and just say a lot of things. It is a pain that would even make you question your existence. You lose your mother and you lose your sanity. It is a terrible pain. And that is what is happening to Wizkid.

“Unfortunately, we live in a world that would even give you more pain than love.”

Why I said Wizkid disrespected Don Jazzy – Mr. Macaroni

Comedian and actor, Adebowale Adedayo, aka Mr Macaroni, has disclosed his reason for saying Afrobeat music singer, Wizkid, disrespected the Mavin Records boss, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy by calling him an ‘influencer’.

Macaroni stated this on Wednesday during a live show on Wazobia TV in Lagos.

The comedian justified his position on Wizkid that although Don Jazzy is an influencer perhaps ‘the biggest entertainment influencer we have in Africa’, adding that the context in which Wizkid presented him was disrespectful.

He added that Don Jazzy is not just an ordinary influencer, saying the Mavin Records label boss influenced the music industry when he newly came out with Ricardo Banks, Tiwa Salvage, Korede Bello, Dija and up the new crops of music artistes.

Macaroni said, “Don Jazzy is an influencer and perhaps the biggest entertainment influencer we have in Africa. He is such a massive influencer in the entertainment industry, from music to film.

“His impact speaks volumes. So, while Wizkid’s comments about Don Jazzy were a bit disrespectful in context, Don Jazzy’s influence is undeniable.

“Look at when he has been doing it with the likes of D’Banj, Wande Coal, Dr Sid, De Prince and then to Maving Records when they newly came out with Ricardo Banks, Tiwa Salvage, Korede Bello, Di’ja and up to this new generation.”

He said Don Jazzy has been so successful that there can never be a discussion around shaping the music industry without mentioning him.

The comedian also described Don Jazzy as a champion and great influence whose impact is undeniable on the growth of the music industry.

“Don Jazzy is a champion. Of course, he’s an influencer; he’s a great influencer. He doesn’t do it for just music; he does it for content and films. All you need is just to add Don Jazzy as a collaborator. You don’t even need to have a million followers. If he loves what you have done, he will just accept your request and the millions of followers that he has can see the content.

“But, the way Wizkid worded it (influencer) when he (Wizkid) said “I can’t chat with an influencer.’ That context is what we find disrespectful,” he added.
