The convener of the Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo has reacted to the alleged rumour of the rift between the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and APC National leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said it is just a mere propaganda to distract the South West from having a stable cohesion come 2023.
He stated that Osinbajo has been a responsible statesman and a devoted Christian being a loyalist to President Muhammadu Buhari led administration for Six years running.
This is coming after President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly met recently with Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande, former Interim National Chairman of the APC.
He reportedly complained about certain actions of the Vice President, and allegedly asked the duo to prevail on Osinbajo to resign his appointment from the cabinet.
Reacting, Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman, denied rift between his principal and Osinbajo.
“There is no truth in the allegation that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is against the Vice President. There is nothing stopping the Vice President from nursing a presidential ambition. If he wants to run, let him run.
“We are all watching and waiting. It is all a bundle of lies that Asiwaju Tinubu is unhappy about that. People are just politicising the situation. Tinubu cannot muscle his own boy in any way”, he said.
The Yoruba Mandate Group is poised at ensuring the Economic and political development of the Yoruba race embodied in the South West region of Nigeria and would ensure it receives support from its members who are fully represented across Six Continents.
Ojo also made it known that the Organization has developed a plans to Unite the Yoruba race in coming months such as Obafemi Awolowo International Trade Fair, Educational Scholarship Programs and Townhall meetings which is targeted at the harmonization of the traditional Institution.
However, the Group would be holding its first meeting which would have in attendance representatives across all regions it represents in the United Kingdom (UK) in coming days.
