Iyanya debunks claim of sleeping with fan he gifted iPhone

Iyanya, the singer, has shut down rumours that he slept with a female fan he met at Davido’s concert before gifting her an iPhone.

In April 2023, Iyanya met Florence, a fan he encountered at Davido’s ‘Timeless’ concert in Lagos.

They went on a date, and Florence confided in him about her struggles with a relative battling cancer.

To uplift her spirit, Iyanya provided her with temporary accommodation, and bought her clothes, perfumes, and even an iPhone.

The ‘Kukere’ singer said his intentions were “purely” to make her happy.

However, in a post via X on Sunday, a user with the handle @Antiape1 alleged that Iyanya admitted to sleeping with Florence twice before giving her the iPhone.

“I slept with Florence just twice, and I gave her the iPhone I promised her —-Iyanya confessed in new interview,” the user wrote.

The singer, in response, denied the claim, demanding evidence of such confession.

He also expressed disappointment that a woman would spread negativity about another woman.

“Are you mad or something? Where did I say such a thing? How can a woman be trying to be evil towards another woman? Post a video where I said that fool,” he wrote.

Comedian Zicsaloma reveals why he did nose surgery

Nigerian comedian and skit maker Isaac Aloma, better known as Zicasloma, has opened up about the reasons behind his recent decision to undergo rhinoplasty surgery, offering his fans insight into the process and his recovery journey.

In a video shared on YouTube on Friday, the content creator opened up about his insecurities and the judgments he’s faced throughout his life due to the appearance of his nose.

Zicasloma said he has always felt self-conscious about his facial features, and explained that his decision was driven by a long-standing desire to alter what had bothered him since childhood.

He said, “I’ve always had a very flat nose and right from childhood I’ve felt that if I could do my nose, I would reconstruct it. I’ve been constantly ridiculed because of my nose. My siblings would always insult me saying, ‘Your nose is too ugly. Your nose is too big.’ I carried my papa’s nose in excess.”

He noted that despite his nose becoming smaller as he grew older, he had always taken after his father’s appearance, unlike his siblings who inherited their mother’s more pointed nose.

“Some of you think rhinoplasty is a death sentence. People do rhinoplasty for different reasons. For some people, they don’t like the shape of their noses, like in my case. Some have breathing issues, but in my case, it’s for aesthetics,” Zicsaloma clarified.

The comedian also tackled the stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery, particularly in Nigeria, saying that many people remain judgmental about altering one’s appearance.

He also pointed out the contradiction of societal standards by comparing the criticism he faced with the common use of makeup and braces.

Zicsaloma continued, “I have always thought of doing a nose job to make it smaller. You can call it inferiority complex but I believe that we all have insecurities. For some, they always wear caps because they don’t have a hairline.

“Some ladies can’t wear some kind of dress because they have big stomachs or “K-leg”. You wear some kind of dress because of your insecurities. For some people, it’s because they are short. If we have a choice, that insecurity will be corrected.

“They’ll say you don’t like how God created you, but ladies wear make-up. Is that how God created them? Why do you do braces to correct your teeth? Leave it the way God gave you your teeth.”

He further argued that the reluctance to address personal insecurities often stems from the inaccessibility of procedures, financial limitations, or fear of public perception, and emphasizes that the inability to make such changes should not give anyone the right to criticize others who choose to do so.

“You’re thinking of how people will perceive you; you know we live in a very judgemental country, Nigeria. The fact that you don’t have the mind or money to correct your insecurities doesn’t mean you should judge another person,” Zicsaloma said.

The comedian also addressed misconceptions about rhinoplasty, reassuring his followers that the procedure was not as risky as some had claimed.

“People said it is cancerous, it’s not. Some said it was my final look. No, it takes about one to two years for the final results to appear,” he clarified.

“Right now, my nose is still swollen. It will still become smaller. After about a year, you’ll see the final look. This is three weeks after my rhinoplasty, and I like what I’m seeing already. My face is less swollen and it will still go down. Once it heals completely, some may not even realise I did a nose job.”

Zicaloma further that he did not personally pay for the rhinoplasty procedure, describing the arrangement as a collaboration between him and the hospital.

“I didn’t pay for the procedure. I won’t call it free, but it was a collaboration between me and the hospital. I only did my visa and booked my flight to Turkey. I did a nose job and he also did a slight eye lift,” he said.

He recalled how the hospital caught his attention and assured the readers that he did his personal which was offered due to his large social media following.

“The hospital caught my attention among others I had seen on my Instagram and TikTok feeds because I saw that they did it for a black person. After I messaged them to ask how much, they said I have a lot of followers and they’d like a collaboration.

“Before I agreed on the collaboration, I made inquiries on their website and the doctor. I did my research first because it’s a life-changing surgery, so I had to be sure. I had a list of surgeons who had done unsuccessful surgeries and my doctor’s name was not there. I read reviews, I almost did not see any bad reviews. There was no complaint of botched nose,” he said.

Zicsaloma also detailed the costs involved, explaining that a consultation would typically range from $300 to $400, adding that the rhinoplasty itself costs between $5,000 and $6,000, while the eye rejuvenation and temporary facelift would cost about $2,500 each.

He added, “I didn’t pay for consultation. During the consultation via a video call, my doctor said I would look definitely better with a nose job. I asked a lot of questions about my fears and insecurities.

“He told me about the risk of infection and bleeding, which is one in a thousand cases. The worst that will happen is that the person will go for a revision to do another one. I said I didn’t want it too pointy, and he said he would give me ethnic rhinoplasty that would make me still look African.”

Zicsaloma shared that his appointment for the rhinoplasty was on January 24th, and he travelled to Turkey the day before, January 24th.

He added that during a physical examination, the doctor asked if he smoked or drank to which he clarified that he has never smoked or drank in his life.

“He asked if I smoke or drink. I have never smoked in my life, I have never drunk in my life. I think those who drink and smoke stand a risk of more complications. I don’t even womanise. I also told him I don’t have any chronic disease, I’ve never been admitted to the hospital before, and this surgery was my first time,” Zicasloma said.

“You see that I’m better than some of you that judge me. Morally, I am better than most of you, the comedian said throwing a jab at his critics.

The comedian then recounted his surgical experience, recalling that the surgery lasted over four hours under general anaesthesia.

He recalled, “When I changed for my surgery, they injected me once and I didn’t even know what happened. It was like I just closed my eyes and opened them to see a lot of bandages. But I think my surgery lasted for more than four hours. I was so weak from the general anesthesia and I wasn’t feeling pain.

“There were lots of plasters on my face and I was feeling a lot of discomfort. I was taken to the recovery room where I stayed overnight. I didn’t go with anybody so I wasn’t willing to go to the hotel. The weakness was for about two days.”

Zicaaloma however noted that the only time he felt pain was during the recovery process saying, “The only time I felt pain was when they were taking my cast off, removing the nasal packing in nose and the non-dissolvable stitches. It was not so painful.”

2Baba has been missing since Feb 10, family petitions DSS

Published

By

The family of 2Baba has petitioned Yusuf Magaji, the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), over his “sudden disappearance”.

In the petition, dated February 7, the Idibia family claimed 2Baba had been missing since February 10.

The letter said he had left his residence in his lounge wear — suggesting that he was going for habitual walk — but has not returned home since then.

The family said they find it “strange” because 2Baba usually goes out with bodyguards and protocol.

According to the petition, several friends claimed that they had received messages from his social media accounts asking for financial assistance which was unlike him.

This, the family argued, has led them to suspect that he might have been abducted or his identity compromised.

The family also appealed to the DSS to take immediate action, expressing worries about the possibility of foul play and coercion.

The petition comes amid 2Baba’s recent announcement of his split from Annie Idibia and his new relationship with Edo state lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

The singer proposed to Natasha in a viral video on Wednesday. He was captured presenting the lawmaker with a ring and sealing their love with a long, tender embrace.

But on Thursday, Rose Idibia, 2Baba’s mother, pleaded with Natasha to leave her son alone, citing concerns over his state of mind.

“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she said.

“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him.

“Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”

We are Solicitors to the Idibia Family (hereafter, “Our Clients”), on whose firm instruction we write,” the petition reads in part.

We are writing to urgently seek your assistance regarding a deeply troubling situation involving a member of the Idibia Family, Mr. Innocent Idibia (also known as Tuface or 2Baba), who our clients reasonably believe may be missing since Monday 10th February, 2025.

It is our brief that Mr. Innocent left his residence in the early hours of 10th February, 2025 in his loungewear suggestive that he was going on his habitual walk but never returned home since then. Despite the best efforts of members of his family, his staff and management of his Record Label to reach or locate him, including reaching out to his friends, and acquaintances; they have been unable to establish any contact or ascertain his whereabouts.

Mr. Innocent is a Nigerian recording and award-winning Artist of international acclaim. By reason of his celebrity status, it is established protocol for Mr. Innocent to be accompanied by protective guards wherever he goes. However, on the day he was last seen, he left his residence unaccompanied by his protective guards, his Personal Assistant or any of his staff. This disturbing discovery and the fact that those who ought to hear from him, have not heard from him for over 72 hours, has left his entire family deeply concerned.

Mr. Innocent is a responsible individual, a family man and a dedicated Artist who is very passionate about his art and often dedicates the better part of his time to song writing, recording and other studio-related activities. He has never gone missing before nor has he ever abandoned his work for such protracted hours. His sudden disappearance without word has raised significant alarm among his family and friends who are particularly concerned about his wellbeing, given that it is out of character for him to be out of touch for such an extended period.

Adding to the family’s distress, are the calls from several of his close friends that have received messages from what appears to be his social media accounts soliciting financial assistance. These messages are alarming, as Mr. Innocent is financially independent and has never required assistance in such a manner. This has led his family to suspect that his identity may have been compromised, and that someone may have abducted him and is actively manipulating him to exploit his contacts for monetary gain.

The implications of this situation are grave, and the possibility of foul play or coercion cannot be overlooked. As a family, our clients are deeply worried not only about his physical safety but also about the potential misuse of his identity while he remains unaccounted for.

In light of the above, I earnestly request the intervention of the Department of State Services to assist in locating Mr. Innocent. The Services’ resources and expertise in handling issues of personal safety, coercion.

It is worthy of note that the Victim is a legend and holds a celebrity status in the Nigerian Music Industry, and whom countless youths and citizens emulate, not to mention the Victim’s wife, children, relations, and employees who have become traumatized, and his musical empire which is now rendered comatose as a direct consequence of the Suspect’s criminal act of abducting the Victim and rendering him incommunicado.

Our humble request is that you intervene urgently to investigate, locate, and rescue the Victim from wherever the Suspect is currently detaining him.

We anticipate your unalloyed cooperation in this regard.

Diddy sues NBC for $100m over defamatory documentary

Published

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs has launched a $100 million lawsuit against NBC, alleging that the network’s documentary ‘The Making of a Bad Boy’ made defamatory statements about him.

The documentary, released on January 14 on NBC’s streaming platform Peacock, features interviews with former associates and friends of Diddy.

According to the lawsuit, the documentary portrays Diddy as a “monster” and accuses him of murder, including the deaths of Kim Porter, his former partner, and rapper Biggie Smalls.

Erica Wolff, Diddy’s lawyer, claimed that NBC knowingly published false statements, causing reputational and economic harm to Diddy.

The lawsuit stated that the documentary’s premise assumes Diddy committed heinous crimes, including serial murder, rape of minors, and sex trafficking of minors.

Wolff accused NBC, Peacock, and Ample of prioritizing profits over truth and journalistic integrity.

“NBC, Peacock, and Ample made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth, decency, and basic standards of professional journalism,” Wolff said.

Diddy is seeking $100 million in damages for the harm caused by the documentary. The lawsuit alleges that NBC’s actions were “malicious, oppressive, and reckless” and that the network “knew or should have known” that the statements made in the documentary were false.

Diddy was arrested on September 16 over sex trafficking and racketeering charges and has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025.

The rapper faces life in prison if convicted on the racketeering charge. He faces another statutory minimum of 15 years for the sex trafficking charge.
