TAMPAN lifts ban on Nkechi Blessing after public apology
Actress Nkechi Blessing has made amends with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), three years after her suspension.
The controversy began in 2021 when Blessing engaged in a social media fight with colleague Kehinde Adams, better known as Lege Miami, over the arrest of another actor Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha was convicted of assaulting a minor. Blessing’s subsequent criticism of TAMPAN led to her suspension.
However, Blessing recently apologized to TAMPAN at the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Toronto.
In a now-viral video, the 35-year-old knelt before Bolaji Amusan, the TAMPAN president better known as Mr Latin, seeking forgiveness.
Blessing acknowledged the significant impact the association has had on her career, expressing gratitude and remorse.
“I am deeply sorry for all I did. I am so sorry. I beg you from the bottom of my heart to please forgive me. I appreciate the industry. You all made me who I am today. I would not be anyone if not because of you,” she said.
Amusan and Odunlade Adekola, his colleague, took to the stage to embrace Blessing. Adekola praised Blessing for acknowledging her mistakes.
Amusan also welcomed Blessing back into the association, commending her “courage” in a post on Instagram.
“I commend and admire your courage… welcome on board!!!” he wrote.

Chioma Chijioke welcomes baby boy — two years after husband’s death
Chioma Chijioke, the Nigerian actress, has welcomed a baby boy — nearly two years after the death of her husband.
The movie star lost Kingsley Anosike, the Nollywood filmmaker and director, in February 2023. Anosike died in Kuwait after slumping on a football field.
On Monday evening, Chijioke announced her childbirth in an Instagram post.
The actress shared maternity photos while also expressing gratitude to God for her bundle of joy.
The identity of Chijioke’s new partner, was however, not revealed.
Her colleagues and fans have congratulated her on the new addition to her family, wishing her all the best as a new mother.
The actress had previously shared emotional posts during her mourning period, including photos of herself going bald.
She had described her late husband as her “most precious possession”.
“Death you’re indeed a thief! In a twinkle of an eye you stole from me one of my most precious possessions and I can’t even fight you,” she wrote.
“Saying my heart is broken is an understatement compared to how I’m feeling, there’s this hole in my heart that has refused to be filled.”

Oprah Winfrey debunks claim she got $1m to endorse Kamala Harris
Oprah Winfrey, the media executive, has denied claims that she received a $1 million payment to campaign for Kamala Harris.
Donald Trump, the Republican standard-bearer, recently defeated Harris, candidate of the Democratic Party in the United States presidential election, to become the 47th president.
But on November 8, Washington Examiner alleged that Winfrey’s company Harpo Productions received the payment to host a celebrity town hall meeting.
The newspaper claimed the $1 million was part of a $1 billion raised by Harris to fund the election.
The report alleged the campaign “paid more than $15 million, according to federal filings,” on “event production”.
“This included a $1 million payment to Harpo Productions for the ‘Unite for America’ event, which took place in September,” it added.
Winfrey had hosted a town hall meeting for Harris on September 19, which featured prominent celebrities like Chris Rock, Jennifer Lopez, and Meryl Streep. She also appeared as a keynote speaker at Harris’ rally in Philadelphia.
Despite her involvement in the rally, the 70-year-old television host maintained that she did not receive any payment for her support.
In an interview with TMZ, Winfrey denied the report, saying “it is untrue”.
“Not true. I was paid nothing ever,” she said.
In a statement, Harpo Productions confirmed that the Harris campaign had paid for the costs of the town hall, without giving a specific figure.
“Oprah Winfrey was at no point during the campaign paid a personal fee, nor did she receive a fee from Harpo,” it added.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are expecting their first child
After a previous miscarriage, American actress Megan Fox has announced that she and her husband-to-be rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) are expecting their first child together.
The actress took to Instagram in the late hours of November 12, 2024, to announce the happy news. She posted a picture from her maternity shoot cradling her baby bump while covered in black liquid, tagging Kelly in the photo. The second picture showed her positive pregnancy home test in her hand.
Her caption read, “Nothing is ever really lost. Welcome back,” a nod to MGK’s song last November about his and Fox’s past pregnancy loss.
This will be Fox’s fourth child and Kelly’s second. Fox is already mum to sons 12-year-old Noah, 10-year-old Bodhi, and eight-year-old Journey, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, while Kelly is dad to daughter Casie.
The pair first met in March 2020 on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass and went public with their relationship after she appeared in his Bloody Valentine music video in May of the same year.
They got engaged in January 2022 and Fox announced it on her Instagram by sharing a video of MGK getting on his knees to propose to her.
In her caption, she wrote, “In July of 2020, we sat under this banyan tree,” Fox wrote in the caption of her post. “We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.”
