Boston University issues statement after podcaster Alex Cooper’s s3xual h@rassment claims
Boston University has issued a statement in response to allegations made by podcast host Alex Cooper, who claimed she was subjected to inappropriate behavior by a former coach during her time on the university’s women’s soccer team.
In her newly released documentary Call Her Alex, Cooper alleged that a female coach displayed an unusual fixation on her, asking invasive questions about her s3x life and punishing her for refusing to answer. She recounted an incident where she was benched during a match for not sharing personal details, describing the experience as one of persistent discomfort and emotional distress.
Cooper said she and her parents reported the matter to university officials at the time, but no action was taken. The situation ultimately led her to quit the team before her senior year.
In the wake of the documentary’s release, several other former Boston University women’s soccer players came forward with similar claims, intensifying public scrutiny and pressuring the university to respond.
On Thursday night, Boston University released a statement affirming its stance on the matter.
