Hakimi, Mbappé, and Yamal headline 2025 FIFPRO Men’s World XI

The results are in! The 2025 FIFPRO Men’s World XI has been announced, recognizing the planet’s top footballers as voted by their peers, and featuring a strong presence from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
Morocco and PSG star Achraf Hakimi was a standout inclusion, being named to the World XI today. Hakimi was the only African player to make the final cut, highlighting his exceptional performance over the last year.
He was also one of four current PSG players to be honored, joining teammates Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, and the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, Ousmane Dembélé. Hakimi’s selection follows a stellar 2024/2025 season where he played a key role in PSG securing the domestic treble, even scoring in the UEFA Champions League final against his former club, Inter Milan, in a dominant 5-0 victory.
His form puts him firmly in the running for the 2025 African Men’s Player of the Year award, where he faces competition from stars like Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah.
The star-studded lineup also features new faces and established legends across Europe’s top clubs. The attack is bolstered by the likes of Kylian Mbappé (France/Real Madrid), who recently secured a move to the Spanish giants, and the sensational young talent Lamine Yamal (Spain/Barcelona).
The rest of the XI includes: Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy/Man City), Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands/Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (England/Real Madrid), Cole Palmer (England/Chelsea), and Pedri (Spain/Barcelona).
In the women’s category, the Super Falcons and Houston Dash right-back Michelle Alozie did not make the final selection. However, the African Women’s Player of the Year, Barbara Banda, earned a spot in the World XI, securing African representation in the women’s team as well.
The FIFPRO World XI awards represent the best men’s and women’s teams of the year, chosen by professional footballers worldwide. Notably, Lionel Messi currently holds the record for the most appearances in the FIFPRO World XI with 17 overall.
