Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has condoled with the people of Esa-Oke over the passage of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran.

This was contained in a statement signed and released by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday.

The statement noted that the revered monarch reportedly joined his ancestors in the early hours of Wednesday.

Adeleke, in his condolence message obtained in Osogbo, described the late royal father as a highly respected personality whose reign was marked by wisdom and steadfast commitment to the growth and unity of Esa-Oke and the entire Ijesa land.

In the condolence message, Adeleke stated, “I received the news of the transition of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, with a heavy heart. Osun State has lost a distinguished monarch and a father figure who devoted his life to the service of his people and the preservation of our cherished cultural values.

“Kabiyesi’s reign reflected humility, maturity, and an enduring commitment to peace and development. His wise counsel and stabilising influence will be greatly missed not only by the people of Esa-Oke but by the entire state.”

The governor further noted that the late monarch played a significant role in fostering harmony and communal progress in Obokun Local Government Area and beyond.

“The late Owamiran leaves behind a legacy of honour, integrity, and selfless leadership. His contributions to community development and the strengthening of traditional institutions will remain evergreen in our hearts,” he remarked.

He condoled the royal family, the people of Esa-Oke, the Obokun Traditional Council and the entire Ijesa community, and prayed that God grants the soul of the departed monarch eternal rest and gives his people the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The PUNCH earlier reported that there was growing concern in Esa-Oke following reports about the health condition of Oba Adediran.

Sources close to the palace said Oba Adediran had been indisposed in recent days.

It was further gathered that the monarch had not appeared in public lately, a development linked to his health condition.

Residents’ concerns over the whereabouts of the royal father intensified on Wednesday afternoon after his second-in-command, the Ogboni of Esa-Oke, Chief Paul Olamiju, announced a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the community.
