The Federal Government on Monday announced dates and venues for a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

The exercise, being conducted by the Nigeria Immigration Service, will take place in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.

The intervention was earlier announced following the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS headquarters in Abuja.

The Service said the exercise followed a directive by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK.

According to a public announcement signed by the NIS Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the London and Manchester exercises will hold from September 7 to 19, 2026.

The London exercise will take place at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW, while the Manchester exercise will be held at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE.

The intervention team will move to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.

The Aberdeen exercise will be held at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen AB24 4NR, while the Cardiff exercise will take place at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.

The Service urged eligible Nigerians in the four locations and surrounding areas to take advantage of the exercise to obtain new passports, renew existing ones or resolve pending applications.

It said applicants must apply and make payment through the NIS Passport Application portal before visiting their preferred venue.

Applicants are required to present their completed application forms, payment slips as proof of payment, appointment slips and a self-addressed return envelope.

Those applying for passport renewal must also present their current passports.

The Service warned that applicants who arrive with cash would not be attended to.

“Applicants who come with cash will not be attended to,” the statement said.

The NIS also urged applicants to cooperate with its officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.

It said its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remained operational, adding that home delivery was also available to applicants.

For enquiries and assistance, the Service provided passport.london@immigration.gov.ng and a WhatsApp-only number, +234 916 087 8000.

The NIS had earlier announced the deployment of the intervention team to the UK to assist Nigerians with pending applications, new passport applications and renewals.

The Service said the intervention exercise was part of efforts to improve passport service delivery to Nigerians in the diaspora.

The latest announcement was dated August 31, 2026, and signed by Akinlabi on behalf of the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja.
