61 kidnapped Baptist Church worshippers regain freedom
Sixty-one members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, Kaduna, have regained their freedom after one month in captivity.
Joseph Hayab, chairman of the Kaduna chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), confirmed that the abductees were released late yesterday.
Gunmen had invaded the church located in Chikun LGA of the state on October 31 and killed two persons, while several others were kidnapped.
Hayab had said that 66 persons were abducted from the church while that two of the abducted persons were killed on November 6.
Speaking today, Hayab said the remaining 61 Baptist church members were freed alongside nine others by the bandits.
