President Muhammadu Buhari has replied the critics of his ministerial appointments and other appointments he’s made since assuming office.
According to the President, the elites of the nation are behind all the criticisms that have trailed his appointments.
Buhari, who spoke through Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the opening of the 21st Nigerian Economic Summit (NES) in Abuja Buhari on Tuesday, said it’s sad that people are paying more attention to sectional and religious interests, rather than competence.
“You find out that the elite, whether from the Southwest, Northwest or wherever, are willing to collaborate in stealing the resources of the state. It is important to point out that the idea of where a person appointed into government comes from is meant to divert attention,” he said.
He added that Buhari-led administration will remain committed to ensure that that every Nigerian of good and proven integrity has access to serve in his government.
