Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi abandons first wife, Adedokun Adebisi plus sets to pick a new wife, Ronke Ademiluyi a fashionista
According to Capitalng: Only a rapscallion or brute from the bay of crooks could fault a King for exhibiting his divine right to love. Thus with no attempt at mischief, it couldn’t be wrong or distasteful for the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to fall head over heels in love again. And if the subject of his affection is none other than fashion aficionado, Ronke Ademiluyi, so be it.
If it is indeed true that Oba Ogunwusi is smitten over Ronke, the founder of Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) and Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN), then the kingdom of Ile Ife and high society are undeniably in for a long, interesting haul of romance and intrigues characteristic of love in royal and celebrity circles.
Ronke, a Law graduate in the United Kingdom (UK) had never for one day, practiced law but had instead pursued vigorously, her passion for chic African couture. Findings revealed that she had always dabbled in fashion while in school in the UK; then, she used to trade in clothes and make ensembles for her friends and other interested students on campus.
Her passion took her back to Nigeria where she opened a fashion store, ‘Rukkies’ in five major high brow areas in Lagos. In 2010, the soft spoken fashion buff started mapping out how her vision for fashion in Nigeria and Africa would evolve beyond Africa. She started the Africa Fashion Week London in 2011 and the fifth anniversary is taking place at the Olympia West Hall between August 7 and 8 in London.
Adedokun Adebisi Ogunwusi
You couldn’t fault Oba Ogunwusi for falling in love with Ronke, and you couldn’t hate him for seeking her hand in marriage, even if you tried. Sources close to the monarchy revealed that, there rumoured marriage is a union long overdue.
How Olori Adebukola pushed her ‘King’ into Ronke’s arms…
While Oba Ogunwusi’s alleged decision to take Ronke as his Queen may seem a legitimate step in full exercise of his right to marry at will as an African monarch, it also reveals among other things, that things are not so smooth between him and his incumbent queen, Olori Adebisi Adebukola.
It would be recalled that it took the new royal family quite a while to reveal the identity of the queen of the 51st Ooni of Ile Ife. The Capital investigations revealed that, Olori Adebukola, had to seize her destiny in her hands and make a daring decision to reveal her own identity when it became glaring to her that her husband, Oba Ogunwusi was reluctant to identify her as his Queen-bride.
Friends of Olori Adebukola who were desperately seeking to benefit from association with her, allegedly urged her to reveal pictures and news about her to popular online media and bloggers lest she is tactically shoved aside and silenced in the royal family.
This explains the sudden flurry of news and strategically timed social media ‘revelations’ of the identity of the wife of Oba Ogunwusi on the day of his coronation. Friends of Olori Adebukola, according to high society rumour mill and sources very close to her, allegedly paid some bloggers to unveil her and save her the embarrassment of being pushed aside. Her friends reportedly scared her to wits with gory stories of women like her who were eventually neglected for a trophy wife by their highly placed husbands. They urged her to be more daring and pushy before Oba Ogunwusi invites another woman into the royal household to steal her shine.
Oba Ogunwusi
Oba Ogunwusi, according to findings, was actually hesitant about stepping out with Adebukola as his Queen-bride. And the reason is hardly farfetched.
Adebukola is currently the only wife of the 51st Ooni of Ife and The Capital findings revealed that, she is hardly doing a great job of commanding the undivided love and attention of her husband.
Adebukola allegedly incited the ire of her husband by alienating his lovechild from a previous romance, Adeola. Oba Ogunwusi allegedly had Adeola at the age of 19, through his first love. Now 21, Princess Adeola, a University College London (UCL) Masters degree student, is currently navigating the folds of royalty and filial love to reignite an enduring spark with her monarch father.
But Adebukola feels threatened by her husband’s relationship with his love child, according to very close sources to the family.
Ooni Ogunwusi knew there was no love lost between his wife and his lovechild and this sad reality, according to a very close source to the king, deeply hurt him. He felt it wouldn’t be too ambitious of him to expect that Adebukola, his only wife, loved and appreciated his lovechild, Adeola, since she is every bit, a part of him but that would never be possible with Adebukola.
Further intrigues at the home front urged the king to seek fulfillment and love in the arms of another woman, Ronke to be precise.

“A mighty Iroko has fallen; Oba Dr. Balogun has joined the ancestors.
“In Kabiyesi, Ibadanland had a cosmopolitan and well-experienced Olubadan, who made indelible marks on the sands of history and achieved greatly within a short while.
“On behalf of the Government and good People of Oyo State, I condole with the immediate family of the Oba Dr. Balogun, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council and the people of Ibadanland.
