Police kill two robbers and arrest one during an attack in Rivers
Two robbers have been killed by policemen and one, 28-year-old Emeka Eze, was arrested during robbery attack in Rivers. It said to have happened at a filling petrol station along East-West road by Etohu in Tai Local Government Area in Ogoniland.
According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Muhammad, on Wednesday, 13 January at about 3:30 pm, a team of policemen acting on a tip off stormed the robbery scene at a petrol station.The armed robbers who saw the police approaching them fled the scene but were chased and engaged in a gun fight by the anti-robbery squad.
“As the police gave them hot chase, a gun duel ensued and in the process two of the armed robbers were fatally wounded while others escaped with gunshot wounds after they were over-powered by the overwhelming fire power of the police.
“One fleeing armed robbers, namely Emeka Eze, 28, was later arrested following immediate combing of bush around the scene.”
