Canada based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Adekunle Owolabi Who Asked His Patient “If She Liked It Big Or Small” Suspended
Canada based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Dr. Adekunle Owolabi, has lost his medical certificate for 6 months after he was found guilty of four counts of unprofessional conduct.

According to Metro News Canada, Owolabi has also been ordered to pay the sum of $75,000 for investigation and disciplinary process asnhe serves his six months terms.

Owolabi who had been accused by four women of making sexual comments towards them and of inappropriate hugging and kissing.

He specifically asked his female patient if she “liked big ones or small ones” in 2014.

He was found guilty after a 6-day hearing, the 3-person tribunal established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Labrador, concluded that Owolabi will lose his medical licence for six months and must be chaperoned when seeing female patients for two years once he goes back to work. Adding that he must take a course on Doctor-patient boundaries.
Stokes had asked the tribunal to put inappropriate comments, hugging and kissing in the context of far more serious possible sexual offences. “This is a good physician,” Stokes said.

The suspended doctor who has 30 days to appeal the penalties to the trial division of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, his lawyer, Paul Stokes said: “He’s very disappointed. But he understands the reasoning of the panel.”

Adding that Owolabi has no plans of appealing and is like to serve his penalty and resume work thereof.
