Former UI Vice Chancellor Shot By Kidnappers
Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan,A first class graduate and professor of Mechanical Engineering, Bamiro was the 10th vice chancellor of UI, Olufemi Bamiro was shot and wounded in the right foot by gunmen in a failed kidnap attempt, on Tuesday, October 4th at Oluyole area of Ibadan.
The police have revealed that they are currently on a manhunt to arrest the suspects, The spokesman of the Oyo Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident said Mr. Bamiro was rescued by the prompt intervention of police officers from the Oluyole Division of the command following a distress call
He has however been transferred to an undisclosed hospital for treatment
