Late Senator Isiaka Finally Laid To Rest Amidst Tears, Swollen Faces And Tight Security

AdelekeThe first executive governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke has been buried amidst tears and swollen faces.

The body was committed to mother earth at about 11.00 a.m by leagues of Imams from his home town, Ede and other adjourning towns in the state.

The former civilian governor was buried near his living room within the premises.

There was heavy presence of security personnel at the residence of the deceased.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye was also at the Adeleke residence to ensure adequate security.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) some angry youths in the town, however, told the commissioner that they would prevent state government officials from attending the burial, alleging that Adeleke was poisoned.

NAN further reported that Mrs Idiat Babalola, the Senior Special Adviser to Gov. Rauf Aregbesola on Diaspora, who came for the burial, was mobbed.

It took the intervention of policemen to ferry her out of the residence.
