Lagos Celebrates Fela With Massive Gold Statue
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, in commemoration of the life and times of Fela, unveiled the Liberation statue of Nigerian Afro beat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
The statue which is located at Allen Avenue Roundabout, Ikeja was unveiled yesterday, October 15, which was Fela’s 79th posthumous birthday.
In addition to that, the Governor and his entourage went on to witness a command live performance by Femi Kuti at the New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja, signalling the end of the 2017 Felabration.
