Tonto Dikeh And Churchill’s Failed Marriage Has Nothing To Do With Me – Rosy Meurer Defends Herself In New Video

Published

on

Nollywood actress, Rosy Meurer says what she was accused of in relation to Churchill, Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband, has now become her reality and fate as she has eventually married him.

According to the Gambian-born Nigerian, she allowed God’s will to take its course in her life.

Recall that after Tonto and Churchill’s crashed, the mother of one in an interview accused Rosy of sleeping with her husband at the time.

But Rosy vehemently denied the allegation then, stating that Churchill was like a “brother” to her.

On Monday, February 15, Churchill revealed that he and Rosy have been married for a while now.

Rosy in a Q&A with her followers on IG revealed that he proposed to her two years ago and that they got hitched a year ago.

In a new video posted on her Instagram page, Rosy attempted to address some of the issues surrounding her union with Churchill.

Rosy denied claims of being responsible for Churchill’s failed marriage to Tonto Dikeh.

In her words;

“Mr Churchill’s failed marriage has nothing to do with me. The same way you guys read and heard online that I was the reason for his broken marriage was the same way I read and heard online that I was the reason for his broken marriage.

Before then, I never knew that the relationship I had with him before he got married was a problem after he got married. I didn’t get the memo. No one confronted me. I was never aware of such. Whatever it is that happened in his marriage, I had no knowledge of. The same way you read online of what happened is the same way I read online what happened.

I mean, I knew him. Why would I wait for him to get married before I would start playing hide and seek? It doesn’t make sense.”

Speaking further, she said;

“After his marriage crisis and after he got divorced, I was still there. I never left. Why will accusations and people talking make me leave? Leave to where? I never left. I never abandoned him. Obviously he was a different person. Not much fun, not the normal fun bobly Mr Churchill that we used to play with and used to know. He was just off, devastated, broken, frustrated. His mind was never there. You could tell he had stuff on his mind. It was what it was.

Gradually days passed, months passed, years passed, life took its course. Destiny happened.

What I was accused of became my reality and my fate. What would be would be. You cannot change it. You cannot force it. I am not God. I mean, it just happened. I let God’s will take place in my life. I never forced myself on him. It just happened that he became more than a brother. He became a lifetime partner”

Responding to comments that she claimed Olakunle was her Brother when Tonto made the allegation, Rosy said;

”I did say that Mr Churchill was like a brother to me but he is not my blood. My mother didn’t give birth to him. We don’t share the same father. That statement he is like a brother to me simply meant he is family. Mr Churchill has always been there for my family and I and it has always been that way.

Was I ever attracted to him or have I ever looked at him in any other way? No! Was he ever attracted to me? Who knows? That is not something I have control over. I was in a relationship. I was happy. A relationship that went sour due to the banter online when some accusations were made. Did I kill myself? No! I moved on. Life goes on.

After Mr Churchill got married, things were still the same. He was still there for my family and I. He will take my siblings and I out. I would invite friends, male or female. He never had a problem with it. We would have so much fun and when it was time to work, we would work. I am not a lazy youth. I have goals, aims and ambition. I have things that I want to achieve in life. Mr Churchill made that possible for me. He exposed me to a lot of opportunities and I am forever grateful.

When it came to work, it was always work. You would see us in places and that is because throughout me going around with him regards his foundation, I was learning the process. It had nothing to do with intimacy. It had nothing to do with me following him because I liked him. I did like him but like I said, like a brother, family.”

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun has joined his ancestors after a brief illness.

He joined his ancestors at the age of 81.

It was gathered that the late monarch was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning having stayed indoor throughout Tuesday on account of slight malaria fever, though, he was hail and hearty on Monday during which he personally received few guests that paid him congratulatory visits on his second year anniversary on that day.

Making this announcement was the Baba-Kekere Olubadan and his younger brother, Dr Kola Balogun in a statement by the Personal Assistant (Media) to the late monarch, Oladele Ogunsola.

According to the statement, Dr. Balogun disclosed that Oba Balogun would be buried at his Aliiwo ancestral home by 4.00pm on Friday according to Islamic rites just as he said that the State Governor Seyi Makinde, though already verbally informed, would be formally notified early in the morning.

The late Olubadan was the first most educated to have emerged as Ibadan monarch, a British trained P.hd holder, a former university lecturer, former member of management staff of Shell British Petroleum, former gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Nigeria People’s Party, NPP, former Senator and a successful business man.

His last official outing was the Olubadan Advisory Council’s meeting which he presided over last Saturday where the decision to derobed Mogaji Akinsola, Olawale Oladoja was taken.

He however, on Tuesday instructed the Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Hamidu Ajibade to midwife a small committee to deliberate on last Friday’s decision on what should be the position of Ibadan Zone in the proposed newly reconstituted Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

The decision of the small committee was earlier on Thursday ratified by the Olubadan Advisory Council at a meeting presided over by Otun Olubadan and the former governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja and was to be taken to the late Oba Balogun for his signature Friday morning so as to meet the deadline for submission to the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters later in the day.

The late Olubadan is survived by wives, children and grandchildren.

Announcing the passage of the monarch, Governor Makinde, in a statement, stated that Olubadan, who joined his ancestors late Thursday evening at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, described him as an epitome of royal excellence and a great achiever, who made great marks on Ibadanland in just a little over two years of his reign.

He expressed his condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council and the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State, praying to God to grant repose to the soul of the deceased monarch.

Makinde said: “With total submission to the will of God, I announce the passing unto glory of our father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“A mighty Iroko has fallen; Oba Dr. Balogun has joined the ancestors.

“In Kabiyesi, Ibadanland had a cosmopolitan and well-experienced Olubadan, who made indelible marks on the sands of history and achieved greatly within a short while.

“On behalf of the Government and good People of Oyo State, I condole with the immediate family of the Oba Dr. Balogun, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Traditional Council and the people of Ibadanland.

“It is my prayer that God grants repose to the soul of our late monarch.”
