“They want to kill superstar but nothing will go wrong with the child of God. Nothing happened to the driver’s, it was only where I was that got damaged.”

God will continue to expose them, Angela Okorie tells Apostle Suleman after Halima’s apology

Angela Okorie, the actress, has declared her support for Apostle Johnson Suleman, general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, following Halima Abubakar‘s public apology.

Halima’s apology came on the back of her defamatory statements against Suleman.

In 2022, the actress claimed that she and the cleric had a romantic relationship.

This was after a blog alleged Johnson had affairs with several actresses including Halima, Okorie, Georgina Onuoha, Queen Nwokoye, Shan George, and Vivian Metchie.

Others included Lilian Bach, Iyabo Ojo, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Johnson, Chinyere Winifred, Larriet Omo Brish, Ini Edo, Joy Ogbunu, and Mary Uranta.

The allegations escalated in 2023 with Halima alleging she got pregnant thrice for the cleric.

Suleman threatened legal action, leading to a federal high court in Abuja ordering Halima to pay N10 million in damages for defamation in April.

Halima recently apologised, acknowledging her statements were “false and hurtful.” She sought forgiveness from the cleric and his family, citing “deep reflections and conscience”.

However, Suleman responded that Halima’s apology cannot erase the memories.

In a recent Instagram post, Okorie expressed her support for Suleman who she described as “my father”.

She stated that her colleague’s apology marks the beginning of more apologies from people who falsely accused him, emphasizing that “God will expose them”.

“Dem never start to apologise. My father, Apostle John Suleman. God will continue to expose them,” she wrote.

Mr Jollof’s wife files N500m lawsuit against VeryDarkMan for defamation

Esinjemiyotan, the wife of comedian Mr Jollof, has filed a N500 million lawsuit against VeryDarkMan for alleged defamation.

The lawsuit follows a series of allegations made by the Abuja-based activist, who claimed Esinjemiyotan used promiscuous means to help the comedian, born Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, secure his appointment as the senior special assistant (SSA) on new media to Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta state governor.

VeryDarkMan also accused her of having an affair with an internet fraudster at a hotel in Delta.

In response, Prime Chambers, Esinjemiyotan’s legal team, issued a statement denying the accusations.

The statement described VeryDarkMan’s claims as an “intentional attempt to tarnish our client’s reputation”.

The law firm added that the allegations have subjected Esinjemiyotan to “insults and degrading comments” on social media.

Similarly, according to a writ of summons, which Mr Jollof shared on Instagram, Esinjemiyotan is seeking N500 million in damages for the “harm caused to her reputation and business”.

The lawsuit — filed on September 27 at the Delta state high court in Effurun — requests that the court declare VeryDarkMan’s publications between September 15 and 19 “defamatory”.

Esinjemiyotan is asking the court for an order directing the activist to publicly apologise in at least two national newspapers and on all his social media platforms.

She is also seeking a perpetual injunction preventing the activist from making further defamatory statements about her, either directly or through any associates.

“An order of this Honourable Court directing the Defendant to pay the sum of N500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million Naira) as general damages,” the suit partly reads.

“An order directing the Defendant to publish an apology to the Claimant in two national dailies and all his social media handles. An order of perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant from further making any defamatory publication against the Claimant.”

In reaction to the lawsuit, VeryDarkMan took to Mr Jollof’s comment section on Wednesday to call him a “fool”.

“You be mumu😂,” he wrote.

Seyi Law, the renowned stand-up comedian, has opened up about his relationships with his senior colleagues.

In a recent episode of Trending by Hip TV, the 41-year-old emphasized his respect for veteran comedians like Alibaba, Julius Agwu, AY Makun, and Basketmouth.

He said his focus is on collective success over individual competition, adding that “I don’t want to be one of those people dragging ranking with anybody”.

“At some point in the comedy industry, there was no rift and there wasn’t any reason to start categorising the comedians. I have played with everybody and I still respect everybody,” he said.

“We respect the likes of Alibaba. At some point, I had to go on a comedy tour with Julius Agwu who did not discriminate against me. I have covered events for Basketmouth. He has paid me for shows. I’ve also worked with AY

“As a Yoruba person, we don’t disrespect anybody who has given us food. So, they are all highly respected. I respect them a lot. And no matter the differences they have, they’re still my senior colleagues in the business. And they have not had reasons to compete with me.

“So anywhere you place me on the ranking is okay by me. I don’t want to be one of those people who is dragging ranking with anybody in the industry. As long as we are all doing fine, kudos. The most important thing is that we must not allow the industry to suffer.”
