Toni Kan has resigned from his role as head of public relations at Globacom.

The journalist’s resignation takes effect from November 14, 2022, and comes nine months after he joined the company.

Kan is reportedly quitting Glo to finish a new novel and explore other opportunities.

Speaking on his resignation in a statement, he expressed gratitude for the time spent at Glo and acknowledged the firm’s impact on his career.

“Working at Glo was an invaluable learning experience. I worked with a crop of talented and well-experienced colleagues and a chairman who is generous to a fault and a guru in every sense of the word,” he said.

“I will look back with fondness at the work done, awards won and connections made in the short time I was at Glo.”

Over the years, Kan has had an extensive and multi-disciplinary public relations and communications career which has spanned banking and telecoms, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, as well as consulting.

His journalistic achievements include being a former editor of Hints magazine at 26, co-founding Radi8 Limited, a public relations agency in 2010, thisislagos.ng in 2017, and thelagosreview.ng in 2019.

He also co-founded the Media Training Room, a training and capacity building venture, in 2018, alongside sabinews.com, an online publishing platform in 2014, which he later sold in 2018 in a landmark deal.

He is one of Nigeria’s most prolific biographers and a ghost writer.
