After beating about the bush for weeks, Oladips, the controversial singer, has finally apologised to Nigerians for a viral announcement about his death.

On November 15, Oladips’ management announced that the rapper had passed away.

The management also released the rapper’s 17-track album.

Shortly after, there were however rumours suggesting that the rapper had faked his death to gain clout.

On November 23, the rapper also shared a “proof of life” video on his Instagram page.

The development angered his fans and left controversies in its trail; with some Nigerians on social media curios about the rapper’s “true intentions”.

But in a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, Oladips said he is taking full responsibility for the “confusion and false alarm” caused by the claim.

“I apologise to Nigerians and my followers,” he said.

“I will never play with people’s emotions like that. It was never a prank. I am sorry for the confusion, distress and false alarm. I take full responsibility.

“From now on, I’ll make sure I’m surrounded by professionals because I feel like that’s where the problem started from. I’ve experienced a lot of things wey be say manager dey chop my money, they wish me dead.

“It got to a point where I don’t even have manager again, it was just me and my boys so I feel like that’s where the problem comes from. Right now, I’m trying to select the right people and be sure they are professionals.

“Because you didn’t hear from my mummy, you feel like aah omo, this boy don go but if it was a professional person, that’s why I feel like, I said I take full responsibility because that is from me.”

Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, the personal assistant of Oladips, recently claimed the rapper was dead for three days.
