Innocent Idibia, the Nigerian singer better known as 2Baba, has parted ways with Now Muzik, his management company, after a two-decade partnership.

Both parties confirmed the conclusion of their partnership in a joint statement released today.

Efe Omorogbe, the founder of Now Muzik, thanked 2Baba for their collaborative work and friendship over the years.

He added that he will continue supporting the singer’s endeavours from the sidelines.

“I am grateful to 2baba for the trust, and for the friendship. I am proud of the brands we built together, the music we made; the fans we entertained,” the statement reads.

“2Baba is one of the greatest Nigerian musicians of all time and it really is an honour to have had the opportunity to walk side by side with him, watching and helping him make magic over the past two decades.

“My team and I look forward to now supporting from the sidelines, and continuing to advocate for any and everything 2Baba.”

Speaking on the separation, 2Baba expressed gratitude to Efe and his team for their contribution to his career success.

“I know it is a cliche but every good thing must come to an end. I owe a lot of my career success to Efe and his team at Now Muzik,” he said.

“Everything I have been able to achieve is as a result of the support of so many people and organisations working with me to bring my talent and vision to life. Now Muzik is one of such companies and I could not be more grateful to them.”

2Baba joined Now Muzik in 2004 after departing The Plantashun Boiz.

The music star will now be managed by Hypertek Digital, his own imprint.

AGN suspends Halima Abubakar for ‘spreading affair rumours between actors, notable Nigerians’

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended actress Halima Abubakar following an investigation into her “unprofessional misconduct”.

In a memo released on Friday, the guild said it found Halima “guilty of spreading false information about fellow members, associates, and patrons, including allegations of extramarital affairs with highly placed individuals”.

The AGN said a two-year-long investigation, conducted by a special secret investigation panel, uncovered Halima’s “involvement in slandering Nollywood”.

It added that the actress will face the national disciplinary committee to determine her full punishment.

The guild said she should not be allowed to participate in any filming projects during her suspension.

The AGN also said the secret panel is investigating other female members allegedly involved in scandals with Godswill Akpabio, the senate president.

“Following the thorough investigative report by the special Secret Investigation Panel set up to conduct an internal underground secret investigation into the activities of some blogs/bloggers since 2022,” the memo reads.

“After two years of the painstaking investigations, the Panel found out that Miss Halima Abubakar was behind all the slandering information of our members, associates and patrons, especially news of extra marital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in the society emanating from the industry.

“Therefore, Halima Abubakar is hereby placed on indefinite suspension from the Actors
Guild of Nigeria. She will face the National Disciplinary committee to determine her full punishment.
During this period of her suspension, she is not permitted to participate in any Agn and or filming activities.

“The National/State Chapter Taskforces have been duly mandated to monitor the
compliance of the above order as violations of the suspension rules may lead to further disciplinary actions.

“On behalf of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, I commend the professional and incisive work
done by members of the secret investigative panel.

“However, some female members on the watch-list are being investigated by the secret panel, especially in the recent release of names purported to have had dealings with the Senate President.”

In April, the federal high court in Abuja ordered the actress to pay N10 million in damages for publishing derogatory remarks against cleric Johnson Suleman.

In 2022, Halima called out the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International on social media, claiming the pair once dated.

But Suleman threatened to sue her for “defamatory statements”.

Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has highlighted seven key things he believes Nigerians should avoid amid the current economic crises in Nigeria, laying particular emphasis on pregnancy.

In an Instagram post made on October 17, 2024, Agu stressed the importance of making prudent choices during these tough times.

“Here is a list of things to watch out for, the way things are going in our country today. Number one, try not to fall sick if possible,” he advised, emphasising the increasing difficulties of accessing healthcare amid economic instability.

The actor continued, “Number two, make sure your phone is in good shape and ensure your data is active. Number three, make sure you drink plenty of water and healthy food, that is, if there is food to eat.”

Humorously, Agu repeatedly listed pregnancy as the top thing to avoid, saying, “Number 4, no give woman belle o, for this hard time. Number 5, avoid cases that would land you in prison. Number 6, observe rule number four, no give woman belle o. Number 7 is always listen to rule number 4, no vibe woman belle o. And finally, which is the most important, pray to God.”

The actor’s post received equally humorous comments from Instagram users who agreed with his list.

One user wrote, “NO GIVE WOMAN BELLE OOOO… I say make I highlight am for capital letters 😂”

“If you like go and say ‘Children will bring financial blessings,’ you’ll cry more than the baby. You better think about the future of your kids, if you’re not financially and mentally prepared to have kids, don’t ever bring an innocent child into this world to suffer!!” another person wrote.

“No do watin go land you for police station,” another person emphasised.
