‘Broken marriage is not always reflection of failure’ — Charly Boy advises AY, wife
Charly Boy, the ace singer and activist, has shared his opinion on the marital crisis of AY Makun, the comedian.
Rumours had circulated that AY and Mabel, his estranged wife, separated amid a brewing marital dispute.
In January, they unfollowed each other on Instagram fueling the controversies. This was after Mabel alleged a threat to her life.
But on Sunday, AY Makun revealed that his 20-year-old marriage is “slipping off” his hands.
AY said he has outgrown entertaining the public with the details of his marital crisis.
The 52-year-old neither disclosed the cause of his dispute with Mabel nor stated that they had officially separated.
However, the comedian admitted that neither of them is completely without fault.
Weighing into the matter on his Instagram page, Charly Boy argued that a “broken marriage is not always a sign of failure but an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery”.
He also praised the estranged couple for sticking with each other for two decades, adding that “sometimes the most broken marriages produce the strongest individuals”.
“Abegi make una leave AY alone. It is not always true dat a broken marriage is a reflection of failure, but rather an opportunity for growth and self-discovery,” he wrote.
“Sometimes the most broken marriages produce the strongest individuals. 20yrs no bi beans. Una Well done.
“AY, edi ok. It’s unfortunate but shit happens. Who never fuckup raise ur hands.”
