CCTV footage shows Diddy punching, kicking Cassie in 2016

A shocking video from 2016 has surfaced online of Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs allegedly kicking, hitting, and dragging Cassie Ventura, his former girlfriend.

The hotel surveillance video, dated March 5, 2016, and obtained by CNN, captured multiple camera angles of the alleged assault.

In the footage, released on Friday, Cassie is seen in a black sweater with the hood up and duffle bag in hand calling an elevator in what the news platform reports is the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

The music mogul is then captured chasing the singer down the hallway in a towel. Diddy catches up with Cassie, striking and yanking her by the hair while throwing her to the ground.

The rapper also kicks Ventura twice while she stays on the ground, picking up her bag and dragging her back toward the hotel room.

The incident appeared to have corroborated several allegations made in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Cassie in November 2023.

In the lawsuit, the singer claimed she was trafficked, raped, and beaten by Combs on many occasions over 10 years.

The lawsuit labelled the musician a “serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood”.

Diddy denied the allegations, calling them “offensive and outrageous”.

The rapper and Cassie’s relationship began in 2007. They made their public debut as a couple in 2012.

The pair, however, broke up after a heated argument in 2018.

Court adjourns Falanas’ defamation suit against VeryDarkMan to January 2025

An Ikeja high court on Thursday fixed January 23, 2023, to hear the alleged defamation suit filed against VeryDarkMan (VDM), the controversial activist.

The human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana filed a defamatory suit against VDM.

NAN reports that when the case was called on Thursday, Muiz Banire (SAN), counsel to Falana and Falz, informed the court that the claimants had filed the originating process and served to the parties.

Banire also said a motion on notice was served on October 25, but Matthias Dawodu, the presiding judge, said the originating process was not before the court.

The claimant’s counsel, however, prayed the court to adjourn the case to enable him file administrative processes.

“In this circumstance, my lord, the best thing to do is to adjourn the matter so that we can go back to the registry to file all the administrative processes,” Banire said.

In his response, Marvin Omorogbe, counsel to VDM, said it had been observed that there was no valid writ of summon before the court. He, therefore, prayed the court to strike out the lawsuit.

Omorogbe said he did not know how the registry of the court would prepare any administrative process. He opined that the writ already filed was invalid as it was not before the court.

According to him, the writ bears the same suit number as the preemptive remedy proceedings.

“Preemptive remedy proceedings ends after injunction is granted or refused,” he said.

“They have gone ahead to file a wrbit, using the same suit number as the preemptive remedy proceedings.

“And the court said no, that a fresh writ of summons with a new suit number, needs to be filed.

“At this point my lord, we will be seeking for a date to hear our preliminary objection.”

Omorogbe further urged the court to withdraw a motion dated October 18.

He said the motion was a move to appeal on the ground that the claimants had admitted, there was an issue in respect to the preemptive proceedings.

Dawodu, however, struck out the motion, following no objections from the claimants counsel.

“I will give you a date for hearing because we are talking about a writ that is not before the court,” the judge said.

Dawodu thereafter adjourned the case until January 23, 2025, for hearing of the preliminary objections.

Wofai Fada, the Nigerian actress and comedian, and Taiwo Cole, her husband, are expecting their first child together.

The excited mother-to-be took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to share photos from her maternity shoot on Instagram, proudly displaying her baby bump.

In the accompanying caption, the actress wrote, “Caution, baby bump ahead. And baby makes it three”.

Colleagues and friends have taken to the post’s comment section to congratulate the actress.

The announcement comes a few weeks after the lovebirds held their legal wedding ceremony. Wofai and Taiwo’s union is surrounded by controversy.

In May, videos from their traditional wedding in Calabar, Cross River, began circulating online.

Shortly after, Taiwo’s family released a public disclaimer, distancing themselves from the union.

“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island Lagos are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our Son Taiwo Olakitan Cole, neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard,” the statement read.

Despite the family’s stance, Wofai and Taiwo continued to share photos from their wedding ceremonies on social media.

Wofai, who gained popularity for her comedic skits on Instagram, has solidified her name in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The actress has appeared in several films, including ‘Oloture’, ‘The Wedding Party 2’, ‘Blood Sisters’, and ‘New Money’.

Charly Boy, the ace Nigerian singer, has opened up about his childhood sexual abuse.

In a recent episode of the Duke Rants podcast, the ‘Odudubariba’ hitmaker disclosed that he was raped at the age of 10 by his nanny.

The 70-year-old activist said due to his innocence and lack of understanding, he didn’t recognise it as abuse and instead felt pleasure.

Charly Boy said the rape incident marked the beginning of his early introduction to sex. He added that by age 12, he was already sexually active, contracted gonorrhea, and frequented brothels.

“I was about 17 years old when I had my first child, even at 12 I was sexually active. If we want to take it back a little bit, when I was 10, I didn’t know what it was all about; I was raped by my nanny and the day my mother found out, she was angry.I did not feel raped at that age,” he said.

“I actually enjoyed it because I didn’t know what was going on, but it felt good. My mother drove her away and that was where it ended. At 12 I had already contracted gonorrhoea and was going to the brothels around. I was really introduced to sex by one of my crazy cousins. When I was 15 or 16 and two families came to the house with their daughters.

“My father called me. There’s a way that my father calls me and then I know there’s trouble, so when he called me in that manner I went. He then asked me if I knew the girls and I said yeah even though I knew where the conversation was going. So I told him that all the boys on my team knew them all. He said one of the girls was pregnant and I denied it.”
