‘Lady who admitted to sleeping with dogs on my podcast committed suicide’ — Biola Adebayo cries out

Published

on

Biola Adebayo, the Nollywood actress, says a recent guest on her podcast has “committed suicide”.

The film star recently published an interview on her YouTube channel where she interviewed a lady identified as Nike.

During the interview, the lady recalled her ugly past experiences — including sexual molestation as a teenager.

She, however, came under criticism on social media after a video of the interview where she admitted that she slept with two dogs to satisfy her sexual urges went viral.

On Saturday, Biola took to her Instagram page to reveal that she got a message from a friend of the deceased, saying she had “committed suicide”.

Biola said she had shared the deceased’s number with some therapists to assist her. The actress also suggested that the criticism she received after her confession might have contributed to her death.

“For the first time in my life, I feel like a failure. Nike died. The lady I just interviewed who said she slept with dogs committed suicide. People heard her story. Some people abused me. They said we formulated the story that they are not real. I gave her a listening ear, but she did not tell me she was going to die,” she said.

“She committed suicide immediately after she came. I sent her number to people to be calling her. I did not know she died. She is late. She committed suicide. That child has killed herself.”

The deceased was said to have left a note wherein she appreciated the actress for listening to her story.

“This is The Note I Got From Her Friend. She did not wait to see the interview. She did not wait to see all the online bullies,” Biola wrote in another post while sharing a copy of it.

“Good day ma, my name is Folorunsho. I am Nike friend, am sorry I was only playing along with some messages on Nike phone, Nike died three days ago but as a friend I wanted to know why Nike poisoned herself so I decided to play along with some of her messages maybe I could get an hint,” the note reads.

“So this evening I was in her room packing her stuff because her sister is coming to pack them tomorrow then I saw her dairy, so she has message for you that is why I decided to let you know what is happening.”

The National Cybercrime Centre of Nigeria Police Force has arrested a prankster in Abuja over threatening video pranks.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Thursday in Abuja, said that the prankster was arrested at an apartment in the Wuye area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, the arrest followed the circulation of accusatory videos on social media, in which the suspect was alleged to have committed heinous crimes, including rape.

The police spokesman said the videos had caused significant apprehension among social media users. He said the suspect had claimed that the videos were scripted and that it was part of his attempt to regain the spotlight after a break.

“Regardless, such actions have serious implications and cannot be taken lightly,” the force PRO said.

Adejobi said that the Nigeria Police Force had remained committed to maintaining public safety and ensuring that individuals were held accountable for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.

He therefore warned pranksters and content creators to be law-abiding and be conscious of pranks that could pose threats to the public and jeopardise the general security of the nation.

The police spokesman further urged the public to remain calm as the Nigeria Police Force proceeds with the necessary legal actions in the case.

I finds it beautiful when men cry, says Simi

Nigerian singer Simi shared her thoughts on men being open about their feelings and expressed her admiration for vulnerability.

Speaking on the recent episode of the 90’s Baby Show, Simi confessed that she finds it beautiful when men key into their vulnerable side instead of bottling their feelings up.

“I find it beautiful when men cry because I am surrounded by so many men that feel like they have to be macho all the time or they have to be strong,” she began.

The singer highlighted how societal expectations often pressure men to always appear strong and tough. She then stressed that it’s okay for men to support their loved ones while also showing their emotions.

Simi explained, “When you see men and women go through the same kind of pain or hurt, the man says, ‘I have to be strong for my wife or for my women or kids.’ I think that’s okay, but I don’t think strength means not being vulnerable or not crying.”

She suggested that suppressing emotions can lead to internal struggles that may eventually surface in unexpected ways.

“I like it when men cry because it means that you feel safe with who you’re with, you can be vulnerable, and you can let go. That’s how I see it because as an African woman, I have seen African men be like, ‘I’m the protector, I’m the provider, I’m the warrior,’ but I feel like if it’s not coming out in your tears, it’s going somewhere. Even if it’s like a little ball inside your heart, one day you’re just going to explode,” she explained.

Social media influencer Sir Jarus arrested for domestic violence

The Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) says Suraj Oyewale, the social media influencer better known as Sir Jarus, has been arrested.

Sir Jarus was recently the subject of discourse on the micro-blogging site X when he shared a series of now-deleted posts.

In the post, he accused Oyewale Ayoola, his wife, of engaging in “fetish practices” and “provocative behaviour”.

The social media influencer stated that her practices led to a “physical altercation” between them both.

The DSVA, which pursues justice for victims of domestic violence in Lagos, waded into the matter on June 28 in the heat of public backlash against Suraj.

“Domestic violence in any form is unacceptable, and the Lagos state government maintains a zero-tolerance stance against it,” it said.

In an update on Wednesday, it stated that the influencer had been arrested for alleged domestic violence, with an investigation underway.

The agency also thanked the Lagos police for a “prompt and diligent handling” of the case.

Details about the case are still sketchy as of this report.

However, it was reported that a lawsuit filed by Sir Jarus seeking to dissolve his 13-year marriage to Ayoola had surfaced online.

In the suit, the influencer was said to have sought to secure full custody of their three children.

The suit cites “abandoning Islam” and consulting with “soothsayers and herbalists” as reasons for the divorce.
