Burna Boy has handed over his self-proclaimed title ‘African Giant’ to Falz, the rapper, after he was called out to join the ongoing nationwide protest.

On Thursday, some Nigerians commenced a 10-day protest against economic hardship and soaring inflation in various parts of the country.

The protests have been dubbed ’10 Days of Rage’ with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance.

Some social media users also called out celebrities to lend their voices to the protest.

Addressing fans who jumped on the comment section of his X page to call him out, Burna Boy said the fight in him to support the demonstration died on October 20, 2020, during the EndSARS protest.

The singer also warned his followers not to drag him into the protest.

During his interactions with fans, some users tackled Burna Boy, arguing that he is not living up to expectations as an ‘African Giant’.

“Are you not supposed to be the Giant of Africa like you claimed you are? But when it is time to lend your voice, you will suddenly become ant of Africa,” one user wrote.

“Because you wan ghost and you de call yourself African giant,” another user asked.

In his response, the Afro-fusion singer stated, “I don hand am over to Falz bros” — surrendering the title to the rapper widely known for delivering projects that address bad governance and societal ills.
