Nelly, Ashanti welcome first child
Nelly, the US rapper, and Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, the songstress, have welcomed their first child together.
The couple were said to have tied the knot in a secret ceremony late last year around the same time she announced her pregnancy.
The paperwork showed St. Louis County, Missouri, Nelly’s hometown, as the location was where their union became official.
The couple welcomed their child four weeks ago, according to Instagram post made by Ashanti on Wednesday.
The songstress expressed excitement about being a mother, adding that nothing prepared her for “everything motherhood brings”.
“Four weeks postpartum. You have no idea what this body can do. Funny how life’s plans aren’t always on time. lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for everything motherhood brings,” she wrote.
The baby will be Ashanti’s first child and Nelly’s third.
