Bukola Ikuomola narrates what led her to sex toys business

Published

on

Nollywood actress, Bukola Ikuomola, has revealed why she ventured into the sex toy business. She explained that her decision to venture into selling sex toys was motivated by a desire to meet human needs, much like any other business.

“Like any legitimate business, my decision to enter the sex toy industry was driven by a desire to provide solutions to human needs.

An entrepreneur’s role is to identify and address these needs. As society becomes more liberal and open-minded, I see great potential in this industry. So far, the experience has been positive, and I’m seeing growing interest in our products”, she told Potpourri.

Balancing her acting career with this unconventional business has not posed a problem for Ikuomola, who credits her peers in the entertainment industry for being supportive. “My acting career does not interfere with my business endeavors. I’m fortunate that my colleagues in the entertainment industry are mature and forward-thinking. I don’t see anything unconventional about the sex toy business, except perhaps in the eyes of those who are immature or stuck in the past.”

Despite the positive reception from most customers, the actress admitted she has faced occasional challenges due to societal perceptions. “I’ve occasionally encountered individuals with a limited understanding of the business who have tried to overstep boundaries.

However, the majority of my customers have been respectful and discreet. Those who choose to buy our products are decent people who value their privacy.”

When asked what advice she would give to women considering similar ventures in Nigeria, Ikuomola offered encouragement, challenging the notion that Nigeria is strictly conservative.

“I don’t quite agree with the characterization of Nigeria as a ‘conservative society.’ We are a diverse and free-spirited people. My advice to others considering such ventures is to go for it. However, they should be prepared to deal with immature individuals who may not fully understand or appreciate their work.”

Rema says his contribution to Afrobeats not being recognised

Rema, the singer, has claimed that his contributions to Afrobeats are not receiving sufficient recognition.

In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Rema said his efforts have gone unrecognised because he has only been in the music industry for three years.

The singer said: “People just want you to strive so hard before they can give you your flowers.”

“I think the success came too quickly that some people wish I didn’t get it too quick.

“You know when they want to give you respect but you have to be 10 years in the game, I feel like my career didn’t play according to those rules.

“And I was already breaking seven-year career records in just three years in the game. I already went international from my first EP.

“People have the mind frame of seeing you striving for 10 years. Why do I need to? There is something called grace though.”

The host asked Rema if he believes he should be included in conversations about the top three Afrobeats artistes (Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy).

The ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker responded by saying: “Respect to the OGs, but I am one of them”.

“My impact in Afrobeats has been huge. Something as little as major award shows creating an Afrobeats category because of the success of my song has already opened gates,” he added.

“It’s not just about hit songs, but the impact on the journey of Afrobeats to the world.

“Must I be 30 years old to give me that flower? Times have changed.”
