“There were some girls I admired from afar before stardom but could not get access. I got access now and I realized it was all just a facade,” he continued.

Following the release of his third album ‘Lungu Boy,’ Asake embarked on a world tour where he headlined notable venues including the famous O2 Arena.
Asake wowed fans with a rendition of his hit records at the sold-out concert that also had in attendance Grammy winner Wizkid and actor Idris Elba who presented Asake with a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for his album ‘Work Of Art’.
‘Work of Art’ became Asake’s second album to receive a BRIT silver plaque after his debut album, ‘Mr Money With The Vibes,’ which also got a silver certification in the UK.
Asake has enjoyed remarkable success in the United Kingdom where he has logged all of his three LPs atop the UK Apple Music Album Chart thereby making him the only Nigerian artist to achieve this feat.
His recent headline show at the O2 Arena is also a reflection of his popularity in the UK where he has now joined fellow Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid as Nigerians who have sold out the O2 Arena more than once.
O2 Arena is a notable venue that has documented Afrobeats’ global rise. Davido made history in 2018 when he became the first Nigerian solo act to headline the O2 Arena. Yomi Fabiyi announces September 30 protest at Lagos assembly over Mohbad’s death
Yomi Fabiyi has announced a second protest demanding justice for late singer Mohbad, who died under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023.
The protest is scheduled for September 30 at the Lagos state assembly, coinciding with the coroner’s resumption to investigate Mohbad’s death.
In an Instagram post, Fabiyi called on the public to join him in peacefully protesting to pressure the police to access the CCTV footage from Mohbad’s house.
The actor said he believes the footage is crucial in unraveling the truth behind Mohbad’s death. He also urged Lagos lawmakers to set up a committee to retrieve the CCTV content.
The actor also said the protest is aimed to prompt the Lagos government to intervene and ensure that justice is served.
Fabiyi alleged that the people responsible for Mohbad’s death are attempting to cover up the case by spending millions of naira to create distractions and bury the evidence.
“It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully to the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024,” he wrote.
“Those behind this heinous crime, those who cut Mohbad’s life short are spending millions upon millions of naira to see that they cover up the case, create distractions, and bury the many blatant evidence.
“We are so sure the CCTV cameras inside and outside Mohbad’s house were working, and they store remotely someone and not via DVR. The builder of the houses of similar patterns and Royal Pine Estate, Off Orchid Road, Lekki security, and CDA have answers to where these facts are stored.
“Why the Police did not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating. We the masses do not want to put laws into our hands by going to ask for it, hence we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up a committee to summon, visit and bring the truth out.
“COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LET US SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending.”
