‘We’re not on same level’ | ‘Copy copy’ — Kcee, Flavour trade cryptic jabs on X

Published

on

Kcee appeared to have fired back at fellow singer Flavour for allegedly insinuating that he copied his music style.

“Copy copy akaria,’ Flavour had written via X without mentioning names.

Flavour’s subtle dig on Sunday sparked controversy, with many assuming Kcee was the target.

This was due to Kcee’s recent single mirroring Flavour’s signature sound.

Kcee responded with a series of intense posts, describing the tweet as “disrespectful” to his hard work and sweat.

He argued that no one has exclusive rights to the style, which celebrates Igbo culture and heritage.

He emphasized that his music authentically represents his heritage and refused to apologize for using the style.

“Stop trying to gatekeep Igbo culture. You’re not a Custodian. I’ve been in this game before you. It belongs to all. You don’t own this genre of music. My music celebrates our heritage, and I won’t apologize. In an ocean of things that matter. You’re like a needle. Get that right,” he wrote.

“People recognize authenticity. I’ll continue celebrating our culture unapologetically. Spend your energy on success, not diminishing mine.

“I’ve never been the type to go head to head, but I’m calling out this bullshit because I won’t be disrespected. No way. I’ve come too far for anyone to downplay my sweats and hard work.”

Although Flavour has yet to respond, the development has sparked reactions on X.

Nigerian Youtuber Korty EO has faced backlash on social media for calling Davido and his team out for refusing to permit her to release an interview.

On October 26, 2024, Korty took to X to post a snippet of the much anticipated interview with Davido, informing her followers that she was going to release it soon.

She wrote, “Randomly decided to rework my video with @davido i’ll drop it tomorrow by 1pm.”

However, the next day, she expressed her frustration regarding the fact that the singer’s team refused to allow her to release the video, even after she re-edited it.

“They agreed that i should re-edit this video and now have said i must not post the video for reasons i still don’t understand. i am not scared of anyone, but i am wise enough to stay out of battles i’m not equipped for.”

Her post was not well received by many X singers, including Davido’s fans who promptly dug out an old post of hers where she voiced her prayer to interview the singer one day.

One X user said to her, “You putting it out like they begged you…you literally asked them to be on your show.”

Korty clapped back saying, “ode they reached out to me. but you can’t relate cos all you’ve ever done in your miserable life is beg & tweet like the ignorant fool you are.”

In another post, Korty stressed that artistes should refrain from coming on her show if they would eventually tell her not to release the interview.

She wrote,”iIve filmed so many artists who eventually tell me not to post the video. if you don’t want people to see you for who you are, please do not come on my show. stop wasting my time.”

“It’s beautiful that the greats recognize me, but my approach can be too intense for some of them, and thats ok, we will charge it to the game, thank the lord & keep working” she added.

Following the backlash she received, she posted, “I no rant again, love u all for supporting me even on the days i’m going crazy.”

A police inspector attached to the anti-cultism tactical squad in Enugu state has allegedly killed a singer identified as Okezie Mba.

Mba, better known as Igbo-Jah, was reportedly shot on Friday evening when he was leaving the squad’s headquarters after a friendly visit.

The officer was said to have fired his rifle “without no reason ascertained”, hitting the singer.

Igbo-Jah was rushed to Eastern Medical Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

Viral videos on social media showed bullet holes on the singer’s sides and chest.

Kanayo Uzuegbu, the Enugu commissioner of police, has ordered an investigation into the matter. The officer involved has also been arrested.

In a statement, Uzuegbu condemned the incident and promised that the officer would face disciplinary actions.

He also offered his condolences to the family of the deceased while urging them to assist the police in the investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to conduct a full-scale investigation that will facilitate prompt and appropriate disciplinary actions against the police officer,” the statement reads in part.

“The Commissioner empathises and consoles the victim’s family, friends, and associates, describing the unfortunate incident as unacceptable. He assures that the police officer and anyone else found culpable will be sanctioned in line with the law to serve as a deterrent.

“CP Kanayo urges everyone connected to the victim to remain calm and cooperate with the police to ensure that justice is served.”

The incident sparked outrage in Enugu, with residents of the Obiago community taking to the streets on Saturday to protest against the alleged unjust killing.

In a now-viral video, protesters mounted roadblocks, burned tires, and carried placards demanding justice for Igbo-Jah.

God will continue to expose them, Angela Okorie tells Apostle Suleman after Halima’s apology

Angela Okorie, the actress, has declared her support for Apostle Johnson Suleman, general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, following Halima Abubakar‘s public apology.

Halima’s apology came on the back of her defamatory statements against Suleman.

In 2022, the actress claimed that she and the cleric had a romantic relationship.

This was after a blog alleged Johnson had affairs with several actresses including Halima, Okorie, Georgina Onuoha, Queen Nwokoye, Shan George, and Vivian Metchie.

Others included Lilian Bach, Iyabo Ojo, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Johnson, Chinyere Winifred, Larriet Omo Brish, Ini Edo, Joy Ogbunu, and Mary Uranta.

The allegations escalated in 2023 with Halima alleging she got pregnant thrice for the cleric.

Suleman threatened legal action, leading to a federal high court in Abuja ordering Halima to pay N10 million in damages for defamation in April.

Halima recently apologised, acknowledging her statements were “false and hurtful.” She sought forgiveness from the cleric and his family, citing “deep reflections and conscience”.

However, Suleman responded that Halima’s apology cannot erase the memories.

In a recent Instagram post, Okorie expressed her support for Suleman who she described as “my father”.

She stated that her colleague’s apology marks the beginning of more apologies from people who falsely accused him, emphasizing that “God will expose them”.

“Dem never start to apologise. My father, Apostle John Suleman. God will continue to expose them,” she wrote.
