Ice Prince recalls horrible 6-day experience in Ikoyi prison

Ice Prince, the Nigerian rapper, has opened up about his “harrowing” experience at the Ikoyi Correctional Center in Lagos.

In September 2022, the entertainer was arrested by the Lagos police command on allegations of abduction and assault.

The ‘Oleku’ hitmaker spent six nights in prison before being released on bail on September 8, 2022.

During a recent episode of the Listen With Osi podcast, Ice Prince described his experience in prison as “horrible” and a “different world”.

The 38-year-old emphasized that he received no preferential treatment and wouldn’t wish the experience on his “worst enemy”.

The rapper advised Nigerians to be cautious, warning that even a small mistake could land them in prison.

He also highlighted the presence of innocent people behind bars, emphasizing the need for vigilance.

“I did not get preferential treatment. There is no such thing as preferential treatment, it is prison. I am not talking about a police station or police cell. I have seen a lot of public figures, celebrities who have issues with the police,” he said.

“They take them to the police station and they come out bragging like they went through some st. You have not been through some st. If you have not been to prison, you have not seen some s**t.

“I cannot really explain it but all I am going to say is that it is a different world in there. I do not pray it for my worst enemy. Just be careful out there because mistakes can take you in there. It could be a tiny mistake, it could be something that you did not even do.

“There are so many innocent people in there. For me, it was not a good experience at all. I made friends in there. We hung out, gisted. Like I said it is an institution of higher learning that I cannot really explain and I do not want anyone to go there.”

Queen Damilola Adeyemi, girlfriend of street king, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has announced the end of their affair after he “publicly insulted” her during a TikTok live session. Portable had allegedly made disparaging remarks about her.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when Portable criticised Damilola for being online late at night. He also accused her of engaging in “polygamy and prostitution”.

“What are you doing online at this time? Do you want to be practicing polygamy. Did I not tell you not to be coming online at this time?” he asked. “Are you a prostitute? What is a housewife doing online at the time? Are you a prostitute?” Reacting via an Instagram post, Damilola expressed her frustration and humiliation, stating that she was “done” with the relationship. “I’m done.

This is too much for me. I can’t take this embarrassment again,” she wrote. “I’m gone for good. Go and eat your house.”

She also reacted to allegation of killing her late husband, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, stating that she had nothing to do with his death.

She expressed her anger towards the musician, accusing him of neglecting her. Damilola claimed that while Portable bought a car for his wife, Bewaji, he refused to do the same for her.

Confirming their split in a video post on Instagram, the singer revealed that Damilola has left his house.

“Thank God, she has left. I was taking care of the child she had for Alaafin because of the respect I have for him,” he said. The mother of one made headlines in November 2020 after allegedly leaving the Alaafin’s castle.

Isak Andic, the Spanish-based businessman and founder of fashion chain Mango, has passed away at the age of 71.

In a statement signed by Mango CEO Toni Ruiz, the company disclosed that Andic died in an accident on Saturday while exploring caves near Barcelona.

“His departure leaves a huge void but all of us are, in some way, his legacy and the testimony of his achievements,” the statement reads in part.

“It is up to us, and this is the best tribute we can make to Isak and which we will fulfill, to ensure that Mango continues to be the project that Isak aspired to and of which he would feel proud.

“In these extremely difficult times we share the pain of the family as if it were our own.”

Andic, who served as the company’s non-executive chairman, fell down a ravine of more than 320 feet in the area of the Collbató caves of Salnitre to his death while hiking in caves that are part of a mountain range.

Reacting to Andic’s demise via X, Pedro Sanchez, the prime minister of Spain, wrote: “All my affection, and recognition for your great work and business vision, which has turned this Spanish brand into a world reference in fashion”.

Born to a Sephardic Jewish family in Istanbul, Turkey, in October 1953, Andic’s family relocated to Barcelona in 1969.

He and his brother Nahman began selling hand-embroidered ‘made-in-Turkey’ T-shirts and clogs.

Andic founded Mango with Nahman’s help in Barcelona in 1984 and the chain now operates almost 3,000 outlets in 120 countries. Forbes estimated Andic’s net worth to be $4.5bn (£3.6bn).

Andic was divorced from Neus Raig Tarragó with whom he had three children.

12 unreleased Michael Jackson’s songs found in abandoned storage unit

Gregg Musgrove, a former California highway patrol officer, has discovered a collection of unreleased songs by Michael Jackson, the late pop singer.

The 56-year-old stay-at-home dad unexpectedly came across the trove of Jackson’s tapes when he purchased an abandoned storage unit in the San Fernando Valley.

The storage unit was said to have once belonged to Bryan Loren, the American producer who collaborated with Jackson on his 1991 album ‘Dangerous’.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the cassette and digital-audio tapes contain 12 unreleased tracks that Jackson worked on between approximately 1989 and 1991.

“I’ve gone to all the fan sites. Some of [the songs] are rumored to exist, some of them have been leaked a little bit,” he said.

“A couple aren’t even out there in the world.

“I’m listening to this stuff, and I would get goosebumps because nobody’s ever heard this stuff before.

“To hear Michael Jackson actually talk and kind of joke back and forth, it was really, really cool.”

However, it’s unlikely that these recordings will be released publicly.

Musgrove said the attorney hired to contact Jackson’s estate was informed that the copyright on all of Jackson’s musical recordings and compositions is owned by the estate.

He also quoted the estate as claiming to have the master recordings of the newly found songs in their vaults, which means nothing commercial can be done with the new copies.
