VeryDarkMan makes U-turn, says ‘I faked missing N180m to see online reaction’

VeryDarkMan, the controversial activist, has revealed that his claim of N180 million being stolen from his non-governmental organization (NGO) account was “entirely fabricated”.

The activist, whose real name is Martin Otse, last Friday, lamented that his NGO website had been hacked, resulting in the theft of the amount.

He claimed that one of the alleged culprits had been arrested, adding that an officer accompanied him to Jos, the capital of Plateau state, to track down the remaining suspects.

The police in Jos and Abuja earlier said they were unaware of the missing N180 million from VeryDarkMan’s NGO account.

In a recent Instagram post, VeryDarkMan revealed that the claim was merely a ruse to expose the loopholes in the media space.

He expressed disappointment that many people failed to inquire about the details of the alleged theft, instead opting to accuse him of stealing NGO funds.

VeryDarkMan also lambasted the police for weighing in the matter without asking about the details. He questioned why the police commented on the story without conducting proper investigations.

“Do you think if my N180 million is missing, who is going to pay? Zenith Bank. Zenith Bank is going to pay because that is where I keep my money. Everybody started saying stupid things,” he said.

“You people are so excited about bad news. You did not analyze anything. I never said I was traveling with a police officer. I said, ‘Officer Sam’. Did I show you the details of the account?

“The thing did not happen. How can the money be missing when VeryDarkMan is here? You know how much we put in for security. My money is secured.”

Eso Dike narrates how he handles advances from female fans

Eso Dike, the Nigerian actor, has opened up about how he handles the attention he receives from female fans.

In a chat with Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Dike credited his upbringing for helping him stay grounded despite the advances from women.

“Home training, that’s all I have to say about that. It’s home training because you can’t do it all. If entertainment to you means attention from women, then when the attention is gone, what do you have left? I’m on TV, so there’s a lot of attention, but I have home training,” he said.

The actor also reflected on the lengths some women go to capture his attention on social media, particularly after the release of ‘Smart Money Woman,’ the Nigerian series on Netflix in 2021.

He revealed that he received numerous nude photos during that period but said such actions did not appeal to him, as he values humour and intelligence over inappropriate advances.

“When Smart Money Woman dropped, I used to get a lot of nude photos, and it didn’t get my attention because that’s not the way to get to me. I like funny and witty people. Sending me your private regions on social media is disgusting,” he added.

Dike, a musician and lawyer, rose to prominence in Nollywood after appearing in the TV series ‘Tinsel’ in 2016. He has starred in notable film projects such as ‘Ijakumo’, ‘The Wildflower’, and ‘The Stand Up’.
