Chloe Bailey speaks on relationship with Burna Boy
Chloe Bailey, the American singer, has opened up about her relationship with Burna Boy, the Afrofusion star.
During the festive period last year, Bailey, 26, and Burna Boy were spotted together at Obi’s House, a nightlife club in Lagos.
Their outing sparked rumours that the two singers were dating.
But in a recent interview on the Breakfast Club podcast, the host asked Bailey if she was bringing a date to the 2025 NAACP Awards.
The singer replied that she would be attending with her godmother and manager.
When asked about Burna Boy, Bailey chose not to confirm or deny the dating rumours. She, however, said she is focused on her positive experiences in Nigeria.
“Nigeria was so beautiful. I had the best time. I ate some good food. I ate pepper soup. I ate some spicy chicken. It was really good. At the nightlife? It was so good. There were so many lights,” she said.
“I am a grown woman. I had a great time in Nigeria. He is a grown man just like I am a grown woman”.
“It is my life. It is what I signed up for. I can only expect it. It is just about how I handle it and myself. I do not think it should ever be pissing towards people asking me.”

Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez finalise divorce
Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will officially be divorced by February 20, nearly two years after they tied the knot in July 2022.
Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. She listed April 26, as their date of separation and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
According to TMZ, Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, will maintain their separate possessions, including their private businesses and project earnings and neither will pay spousal support to the other.
As part of the agreement, Ben will keep his stake in Artists Equity, the production company he co-founded with colleague Matt Damon in 2022. He established the company four months before his marriage to Lopez.
Artists Equity has produced several notable movies, including ‘Air’, ‘Unstoppable’, ‘The Instigators’, ‘Small Things Like These’, and ‘The Accountant 2’.
On the other hand, Lopez will retain her project income from films like ‘Atlas’, ‘This Is Me… Now’, ‘The Mother’, ‘Shotgun Wedding’, and ‘Marry Me’.
The settlement also stipulates that Lopez will drop Affleck as her last name and revert to Jennifer Lynn Lopez. Additionally, the pair agreed to sell the $61 million house they bought together, although details of the sale remain private.
In October last year, Lopez revealed that the split almost “took me out for good” but she did not regret her decision.

We started dating two years ago, says groom poisoned by 14-year-old bride in Jigawa
Khamis Haruna, the groom hospitalised after eating poisoned food allegedly made by his bride, says he and the 14-year-old had been in a relationship for two years.
Haruna, 29, said he thought the teenager loved him wholeheartedly.
In an interview with The Nation, Haruna said the food poisoning incident happened on Sunday, December 22, 2024, two days after they got married in Jigawa.
“We were married on Friday and the ceremony continued till Sunday when the bride came into my house as the last phase of the ceremony,” he said.
“At about 10 pm on that day, my two friends urged me to go into her room, but I said no, because some of the women that escorted her to the house had not left.
“So we were in my tailoring shop when some of the bride’s friends came and told us that we should come in to eat, but I told them we were not yet ready.
“Later, they came back with the food, which was jollof spaghetti, and left.”
The groom said he was working on his sewing machine when the food was presented to him and his two friends —Muhammad Alfah and Isyaku Adamu
He said they had taken a few spoons when they noticed a harmful substance in the meal.
“Noticing that, we became suspicious and stopped eating. We all became uncomfortable and scared,” he said.
“A few minutes later, Alfah started complaining about his stomach. He stood up to leave but he could not control himself, so we took him to a friend’s house which was closer.
“By the time we got inside, all of us had started feeling the same. We were given milk but we felt no relief as the situation worsened.
“We were then rushed to Jahun Hospital where Alfah died while Isyaku and I were rescued.”
The groom alleged that the bride was given the poison by her ex-lover, who asked her to put it in the food.
“We were married for love. She loved me. I loved her too. Since she was still a small girl, we were in love for two years before our marriage,” he said.
“We saw her in a neighbouring village, Bakata, also in Kiyawa Local Government Area, and approached her almost two years ago.
“We continued dating until she reached 14 years and I made arrangements for marriage.
“I’m really surprised. We were married for love. She never showed any worries about our relationship and never displayed any sign of ill feeling before she carried out the evil act.”

He stressed that the partner should be a “queen, not a clown” who seeks validation from people.
“A man whose focus is building an empire needs to either be single, or be with a partner, this 100%,” he wrote.
“A queen not a clown seeking attention from the entire village.”
