Breaking News: NNPC Slashes Petrol Price to ₦860/Litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has recently announced a reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N860 per litre. This decision comes amidst a price war between oil marketers and independent petroleum dealers, as well as fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
Effective Monday, the new NNPCL price represents a significant decrease from the previous average of N920 per litre. Last week, Dangote Petroleum Refinery also lowered the ex-depot price of petrol from N890 per litre to N825, marking its second price reduction in February.
In a public notice regarding the price adjustment, NNPCL disclosed three partner off-takers in Lagos: MRS at N860 per litre, AP at N865 per litre, and Heyden at N865 per litre. This move reflects the ongoing competition in the petroleum industry and the impact of international market trends on local pricing.
