Fatal Consequences: Mans Violence Claims Second Wifes Life in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Nuru Isah, for allegedly causing the death of his second wife in the Fadamam Mada area of the state. The incident, which occurred during a domestic dispute over the handling of food ingredients and fruits designated for breaking the Ramadan fast, was confirmed by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement released on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Isah reportedly used a cane to strike his 24-year-old wife, causing her to collapse and lose consciousness. She was immediately rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, where medical professionals sadly confirmed her passing.

The Bauchi State Police Command received a report of the alleged homicide incident near Government Girls College, Fadamam Mada Area, Bauchi, on March 1, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM. The tragic event stemmed from a disagreement between Alhaji Nuru Isah, a 50-year-old businessman at Central Market Bauchi, and his second wife, Wasila Abdullahi, aged 24, regarding the handling of food ingredients and fruits meant for breaking the Ramadan fast, which escalated into a violent altercation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Alhaji Nuru Isah used a cane to assault his wife, leading to her collapse and loss of consciousness within their home. The victim was subsequently taken to ATBU Teaching Hospital, where her death was confirmed by medical personnel.

The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter and has taken Alhaji Nuru Isah into custody. The cane allegedly used in the assault has been recovered as evidence, and the deceased has been placed in the mortuary pending autopsy procedures.
