Impersonators on the Prowl: Bandits Pretending to be EFCC Officials Kidnapped Hotel Guests In Niger

Suspected bandits, disguised as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), carried out a brazen abduction of 10 individuals from the White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road, located in the Chanchaga Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.
According to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the incident took place at approximately 4:58 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2025, as reported by intelligence sources.
The armed perpetrators purportedly entered the hotel under the guise of EFCC personnel conducting an official operation. They disabled the hotel’s CCTV cameras and proceeded to forcibly remove 10 individuals from their rooms, leading them to an undisclosed location.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (Acpol SID), has confirmed that investigations are underway to identify the culprits responsible for this heinous act and to locate the abducted victims.
In light of this alarming event, Makama emphasized the importance of public vigilance and encouraged individuals to report any suspicious activities. Authorities are diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and bring those responsible to justice.
