Rivers Assembly Gives Governor Fubara 48 Hours To Present 2025 Budget

The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Governor Sim Fubara to present the 2025 budget to the lawmakers. This directive was given during a plenary session held in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Security measures were heightened during the session, with the presence of security operatives such as the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force at the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters, where the meeting took place. A significant number of armed security personnel were strategically positioned around the Assembly Quarters on Monday morning.
The increased security measures followed the recent ruling by the Supreme Court in favor of Speaker Amaewhule and his colleagues, instructing them to resume legislative activities after a prolonged power struggle over the control of the Assembly.
