Sanwo-olu Inaugurates Demurin, Agidi Roads and Church Street In Agboyi-Ketu LCDA
Today, we inaugurated road projects in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), specifically the rehabilitation and expansion work on the Ketu-Alapere axis, which includes Demurin Road, Agidi Road, and Church Street.
These roads connect the Ketu area to other parts of the local government and serve as a crucial bypass for motorists travelling to the Mile 12 International Commodities Market and the Owode Onirin Auto Parts Market on Ikorodu Road.
Facilitating the movement of people and goods to other areas in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA further emphasises our commitment to enhancing food security and improving connectivity.
Demurin Road has been upgraded to a dual carriageway with a semi-rigid pavement. This upgrade addresses the chronic congestion that has affected the road, providing greater connectivity and accessibility for everyone.
Agidi Road has been expanded and dualised to better withstand traffic pressure.
Church Street, which connects to Agidi Road, has undergone extensive reconstruction to enhance the area’s overall infrastructure.
The completion of this project marks another milestone in our administration’s commitment to delivering transformative public infrastructure. It highlights our dedication to creating an intermodal transportation system that positively affects all residents’ health and socio-economic well-being.
I commend the residents for their patience during the rehabilitation work and extend my gratitude to the contractor, Retro Construction Company Limited, for a job well done.
I urge everyone to take ownership of this infrastructure; it belongs to you. To maintain these roads, we must prevent vandalism and the indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
Together, we can ensure these road improvements serve us well for years.
