Tinubu celebrates Prof Adegbulugbe at 70

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated  Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe, Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, on his 70th birthday.

In a statement on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu lauded Adegbulugbe’s remarkable contributions to academia, evangelism, business, and philanthropy, highlighting his lifelong dedication to intellectual excellence and national development.

Reflecting on their shared experiences, Tinubu recalled their joint recognition at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, in October 2019 where they received honorary doctorate degrees alongside the Sultan of Sokoto, His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe

“In October 2019, I had the privilege of sharing the podium with Professor Adegbulugbe as we received honorary doctorates alongside the Sultan of Sokoto, His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti. Standing beside such a distinguished intellectual, known for his outstanding dedication and humility, was truly an honour,”  the President said.

He described the moment as an honor, standing beside an intellectual of Adegbulugbe’s caliber, renowned for his humility and outstanding contributions to society.

Adegbulugbe’s academic achievements remain exemplary with the President highlighting his 1976 First-Class degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), where he graduated with a perfect Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0—an extraordinary feat that distinguished him early in his career.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in Professor Adegbulugbe’s continued impact on national development, affirming that his unwavering commitment to excellence would serve as an inspiration for generations to come.

The President extended warm wishes to Adegbulugbe and his wife, Princess Afolake Adegbulugbe, praying for their continued good health and abundant blessings in the years ahead.
