I feel relieved to end my 18-game goal drought- Palmer
Chelsea star Cole Palmer has shared relief and satisfaction after ending a three-month goal drought in the Blues’ 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday.
The England international sealed the win with a 95th-minute penalty, earning Chelsea a vital three points in their push for Champions League qualification.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Palmer—whose last goal came in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on January 14, 2025—expressed his joy at finally breaking a run of 18 games without scoring.
“I felt normal. S— happens… sorry for my language! I went three months without scoring, but it just gives me more fight and motivation to do more for myself and for the team.
“Social media nowadays is full of idiots, the trolls, and whatever. I don’t pay any attention to that.
“I’ve scored today, and I’m happy, but it’s only one, and I’ve got to keep improving and try and reach new levels.”
