Police rescue newborn baby found abandoned inside carton in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has rescued a newborn baby girl who was found abandoned inside a carton along a road in Galadima, Abuja.
The discovery has raised fresh concerns over cases of abandoned babies in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the FCT Police Command, the newborn was found inside a carton before being rescued.
Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh expressed concern over the incident and appealed to members of the public to provide information that could help authorities locate the child’s family.
The police said the incident represents the third case involving an abandoned baby recorded within the FCT in the past two weeks.
Adeh called for an end to the disturbing trend of children being abandoned or left vulnerable in communities.
