Ondo APC unveils 228-member campaign council for 2027 elections

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has constituted a 228-member Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The council will coordinate the party’s campaign and grassroots mobilisation in the state for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, while also supporting other APC candidates contesting in the elections.

The composition of the council was announced in Akure in a statement issued by Ondo APC Secretary Alex Kalejaye.

According to the party, members were drawn from political leaders, stakeholders, women and youth groups, support organisations and grassroots mobilisers across the state’s 18 local government areas.

The APC said the structure is intended to strengthen party organisation across Ondo and bring different stakeholders together ahead of the election campaign.

Aiyedatiwa heads campaign council

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was named chairman of the campaign council.

Deputy Governor Olaide Adelami will serve as Vice Chairman I, while Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Olamide Oladiji was named Vice Chairman II.

Babatunde Kolawole, Taiwo Oyedele, Interior Minister Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and Ayodele Olawamide were listed as Vice Chairmen III, IV, V and VI respectively.

Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko is also included as a member of the campaign structure.

Former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Victor Adekanye Olabimtan was appointed Director-General, while Sylvester Olumuyiwa Adu will serve as Deputy Director-General.

Ola Oguntimehin was named secretary of the council.

Senators, former officials included

The council also includes serving and former lawmakers, former deputy governors, senior lawyers and other party figures.

Among those listed are Senators Jide Ipinsagba, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Dayo Faduyile, Tayo Alasoadura, Remi Okunrinboye, Gbenga Ogunniya, Titus Olupitan, Robert Ajayi Boroffice, Yele Omogunwa and Boluwaji Kunlere.

Other members include former Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, former House of Assembly Speaker Bamidele Oleyelogun and several Senior Advocates of Nigeria, including Kayode Ajulo, Olusola Oke, Kola Olawoye, Olajide Ajana, Remi Olatubura and Charles Titiloye.

The council is one of several state-level campaign structures being assembled by the APC as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

Ondo APC had earlier announced plans to establish reconciliation committees across all 18 local government areas following disagreements arising from previous party primaries
