Hanks Anuku urges Nigerians to give Tinubu more time to address country’s challenges
Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, arguing that many of the country’s problems predate the current administration.
Anuku made the comments during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast.
The actor said he believes Tinubu inherited longstanding economic and governance challenges and should be allowed more time to implement his administration’s policies.
Anuku also expressed personal support for the President and rejected suggestions that he had been paid to speak positively about the administration.
His comments represent his own political assessment of Tinubu’s performance and should not be presented as an independent evaluation of the government’s record.
The actor argued that Nigerians should judge the administration over its full period in office rather than expect longstanding national problems to disappear immediately.
Tinubu’s administration has faced continuing public debate over the cost of living, petrol prices, inflation and other economic pressures, while government officials have maintained that current reforms are intended to improve economic conditions over time.
Anuku also spoke about personal difficulties he had experienced in recent years, including the loss of the mother of his children and challenges involving some friendships.
He said he had since found greater peace through his faith.
